Whoops, that was stupid of meFireSeraphim wrote:@hugoroy: It is finished, why don't you click the download link and play it.
Anyway I ran through map01 and I'm enjoying it a good bit
The good: The level was very good is atmosphere and gameplay, good custom items, the music was nice
The bad: Some of the doom monsters were not fun to fight even (goddamn pinkies have so much health)

@Hugoroy:I have a reason for the doom monsters being there, it will be revealed in the sequel if I ever get around to it.
Re: Terra Incognita. Updated
The fact that they're there isn't the problem, it's the fact that them pinkies got a ton of health. (I mean really, they're not really even a thread, just a meatsheid, a huge one)

The Pinky Demons are fine as they are. No different than the Sabreclaws HP-wise. My apologies for taking so long to reply.
I am complementating whether or not I should make a secret level for this.

Heh, I just forgot to mention about this levelset...
I started playing thorugh the first two levels, and I find the design very, very nice - much better than some other whole-episode replacement I tried in the past.
Also, thumbs up for the DOOM monsters in it - I always found many Heretic originals to be a little bland, so this is surely a welcome change to me.
As for the weapons, I only tried them up to the double crossbow - still need a little time to make an opinion...

I played through this last night, was a lot of fun for a small set. Though probably odd, I liked the intermission quite a bit. I had never thought to use older RPG tilesets to create that sort of intermission before, it's a pretty good idea. Liked the music too, though the boss music was a little out-of-place. The final boss music was pretty jolly.
I did notice a few things about the Doom monsters. Their mass is higher than most Heretic monsters have, so they don't get pushed around like they should. The Demons are especially grounded, moreso than the golems even. I also thought this would have been one of the few really good times to use recolored/modified Doom monsters. Could still fill the same slots that the Lost Soul or the Barons do but without actually using the official Doom sprites.
Either way, still a good set.

so... I hate to bump but the link is apparently dead, can anybody reupload? (yes I know there's a specific thread for that but those who actually played this are more inclined to see this thread rather than that one)
Re: Terra Incognita. (Needs more Love)
thanks
maybe a mod should update the first post as well?
