question about 223 Scroll_Floor on linedef

Post by Kappes Buur »

Could somebody, please, explain how scrollbits works with the ZDoom special 223 on a linedef.

The ZDoom wiki mentions the scrollbits being dependent on the type of scroller.
However, if I choose any of the two options Displacement (1) or Accelerative (2),
Spoiler:
then nothing scrolls.

There doesn't seem to be any information in the wiki as to how those two options are employed,
at least I could not find any.

The scroll happens If I choose none of the options, leaving it as 0, or if I choose the option 'Scroll by linedef', which
is like the BOOM special 253, where the speed of the scroll is determined by the length of the linedef.

Concerning 'Line Tag' , I posted it as a bug in GZDoom Builder 1.14

So you didn't understand my explanation?

Get this and play around with the scrollers. You'll quickly understand what the deal is with displacement and accelerative scrollers.

Right you are.
I don't want to sound unappreciative that you responded, but that is hardly an explanation.

I have this, yet ....
While the boom specials work great in BOOM, there is nothing about Displacement or Accelerative, as far as I can see.

Which one of these pertains to Displacement and which one to Accelerative that would be comparable to the ZDoom Options?

None of those on this screenshot.

The displacements are those:

Notice how they don't move until you activate the support pillars.

The accelerative are those:

Again, no movement until the pillars are activated.

Oh, how bloody cheeky :D
Without GZDoombuilder's event lines I still would be scratching my head.

Thanks for being so patient.
