The colours look more like Duke Nukem to me. It does look good. :yup:

Putting the ammo counter on the gun itself? Clever idea.

It probably is, Globe said earlier he works with the DN3D palette and on DN3D projects.

Thanks, everybody. I'm flattered, really :D Though Enjay and Gez get the prize, it is indeed DN3D. Least, that's what it's based on. The CON files have been gutted, none of the original art tiles are left, none of DN3D's sounds are being used, and even some of the game's original functions like teleporters, security cameras (etc.) have been re-worked from scratch, so this is (more or less) it's own thing, à la WGRealms2. It relies more on eDuke than anything else.

Mikk- wrote:That looks VERY interesting, Globe - is that Strife? Looks promising.

Yeah, a lot of Strife stuff is there. I've always loved Strife's aesthetic, so I tend to drift towards it, even when I'm not entirely meaning to.

I was going to say something about this getting a nod on R667 once I was ready for a formal announcement, but I see it's already made it there anyway. I hope you'll keep it around even though it's not explicitly a Doom project, but even if you don't, thanks!

Scuba Steve wrote:I really want to play that, Globe.

Someday soon, hopefully :) It's going through a little technical testing right now to make sure all the bells and whistles are working correctly and once that's done, it'll be ready for an actual announcement, then I'll start with the actual challenge; mapping.

What made you choose eDuke32 instead of ZDoom? Just curious.

DN3D and eDuke32 are just what I know, by the end of the day. I'm relatively competent at both mapping and coding with them, though it took me a long time to get to that point, and it would probably take just as long to do the same with ZDoom. I've always dabbled with the idea of it, but to this day, Doom remains my "look, enjoy, but don't touch" thing. Course, Doom and its many, many mods inspire me (and obviously this project) so I figure it's worth the mention here.

I see. I don't kow where I got the idea that you're primarily a Doom modder.

No shame in that - i've always stuck to Quake since like Globe, it's "what I know".

@Globe, What's the title of the game and where I can I download it once it's finished?

Also finally a Build engine FPS game starring a female protagonist which caught my interest.

That face again… I knew it would get reused and reused once Xaser released it as resource… Now every female protagonist in a Doom TC looks the same…

That's where you're wrong: it's not a Doom TC! :p
