I don't think that's how that math works. You're increasing their rate of build by 103%, not subtracting 103% from the build time.

As far as I can tell, having a bonus which (for example) makes things build "50% faster" cuts the build time in half. The bonuses are multiplicative, not additive.

In that case, things would build about 75% faster with those three bonuses.

That's a bizarre interpretation of "n% faster", but okay.

Yeah, there's a difference between "n% building rate increase" and "n% reduction in building time". A 103% increase in building rate roughly doubles the building rate, which would halve the building time. I interpret building n% faster as an increase in building rate.

Though don't expect me to explain the mechanics of Age of Empires 2.

Nice! One question, is it as good as the first one? My mate saw DoW2 the complete box set in Blockbuster for £34 and was wondering of whether it was worth getting it or not.

Finally upgraded the RAM and the OSX! Much, much, much better, and I can now play PrBoom-plus and Wolf4SDL!

But because of this I lost the Internet for an entire day, because the smartasses from the campus limit my daily (albeit paid-by-nothing) access. Good thing I could at least do the software update in fragments...

I haven't played DoW1 (I want to try to get it after I get and beat DoW2-Retribution), but it's an excellent game. It's sort of like Battle for Middle-Earth without any base-building or unit-training, and some RPG elements between missions.

If that complete box set is Chaos Rising and Retribution, yeah, that'd be worth it. The complete set is about $60 on Steam (around £39?).

A friend of mine found the following on an Age of Empires wiki, regarding the Gothic unique tech in AoE 2:

Hah! I remember that! Wasn't even really minutes, you could pump out a decent shock force in 30 seconds if you have a pair of Castles. The Gothic unique unit, the Huskarl, also had ridiculously high pierce armor, so that's any ranged part of your opponent's force almost useless.
