It's a little more complicated than that for Mac - in my brief time testing it, I found that I needed to point it to the WAD files outside of ZDoom.app. My command looked slightly like this:
Code: Select allExpand view
./ZDoom -file ../../../../../file.wad

Also note that you need to be inside ZDoom.app (quite a few folders deep, actually) for the game to even launch from terminal. No idea why.

With Mac OS X 10.6 you should be able to pass command line parameters directly to the app (through the open command), but I don't remember the specifics on this. In any case the reason is because ZDoom is an App bundle and that's how Apple wants them organized.

It would be helpful if someone could update the Installation and Execution page with these details - it is ridiculously vague on the subject.

Gimmie a Macintosh and I'll do it. :P

Otherwise, wait for someone with a Mac to do it, I guess. vImagev

Solution:

Switch to a PC. They are way better than Mac.

Mac is from hell, and we all know what happens to stuff from hell...

Where is my shotgun! I see another IPOD...

Blam! Blam!

Ahh... The world is yet again safe.

This is the sort of post that is not helpful. If your PC broke, you would not want someone to tell you to switch to a Mac, so why would this justify you suggesting the other way around? Just because someone prefers a different computing standard than you does not entitle you to make posts like this.

Also, nice useless bump.

Facts are facts... Mac stinks worse than a Mancubus.

And opinions are like arseholes: everyone has one and they all stink.

Oh, and been meaning to say this for a while: That is not my dog. ;)

I already told you off about making posts like this. Standards differences be damned, your opinion is not only invalid and unhelpful, it's also borderline flame bait, and since you apparently didn't listen to my last reply, you're quite close to receiving an administrative warning. Now please keep your unwarranted opinions out of an otherwise ordinary tech support thread.

Ok... I am sorry.

I apologize wholeheartedly.

Sometimes I have a big mouth.
I had not intended to offend anyone, and I apologize if I did in any way.

I was only trying to inject a little humor into what appeared to be a very frustrating problem, I am sorry if it was taken the wrong way.

Just to show that I am truly very sorry, I will attempt to post a solution (which I probably should have done in the first place).

Try using an Applescript for running zdoom.

And thanks for recognizing the pun Enjay.

Then don't inject more frustration into an already frustration-laden problem, dipshit. That's not funny to anyone.
