Dialogue

Post by Doctor-Dos »

Can anyone please break down how to get characters in the game to interact like in Strife?

Or maybe point me to a good tutorial?

I can't figure out DIALOGUE out.

http://zdoom.org/wiki/Strife_dialogue_scripts Have you tried this? This explains it and gives the binary format.

I have no idea to be honest I'm learning myself but found the article quite helpful for understanding some of the basics. EDIT: I think there is a topic where you can request an edit of the article for more detail and easier to understand.

Have a look at [wiki]Universal Strife Dialog Format[/wiki] and [wiki]ZDoom Strife Dialog Format[/wiki]. For more info, have a look at their respective specifications (linked at the bottom of each page).

Until more of us are familiar with the language, it'll be basically impossible for anyone to properly teach you how to use it. Experiment a bit, and post if you need help with a specific feature.
