The reason why I go to default graphics setting is b/c I screwed around w/ my laptop w/ a different OS (some time ago) and its graphic software starts crashing last night when I try to use any graphic-extensive application (the web browser) for a set amount of time. I guess compatibility issues in graphics is still a force to reckon with
The basic graphic settings are based on the operating system software. The choice of default screen resolutions is another story; at least I know that the 800x600 should be the standard screen resolution for most monitor screens.
The default graphics compatibility in Windows 2000 is disputed for me b/c my laptop + OS won't run zdoom w/o the graphics driver, but my desktop + OS can run zdoom (w/ the graphics driver [installation]). I assume that Windows 2000 need some graphics driver installation in order to run either GZdoom/Zdoom.
