This wad doesn't work on the 2.5.0 last public version, you need a recent developpement version to run it.

So, yes, I'm back with a vengeance "shit" may think some of you :p.
Well, things have evolved quite much since last time , as you can see, the title changed to be more fitting the whole thing.
Yes, it is mixing Touhou, Doom and YTP. Yes, I know that many people find this irritating no need to let me know, just ignore it if you hate this I'll understand :P

So what is the new stuff?

3 playable characters.
Namely the doomguy , Reimu from Touhou and King Harkinian from Zelda CD-i. They all have their own amount of health, arsenal and speed. (Reimu also jumps higher).
Weapons are mostly custom weapons, some from scratch, some from realm 667.
- Doomguy : the only one who has "bullet" weapons.
His arsenal is different than the usual one, focused on high-rate firing weapons (and believe me, you need this!). He's quite fast and his health is normal.
- King Harkinian : health starts at 150 and can reach 300. His arsenal is quite polyvalent though, the weakest of the three. He's the slowest character.
- Reimu : health starts at 50 to 100. Hyper fast, and throws her usual cards without any need for ammo, which can be quite powerful. Upgrades are hidden along
the maps. Bombs will be featured from episode 2 (you know , stuff like in shott'em up "cleaning" a room.)

8 skill levels
The 4 first are the "regular" ones, after it's a bit different.
- I eat cybies for breakfast : like nightmare but without respawn. Though , you take more damage.
- Lunatic : the hardest one in my point of view, many monsters replaced by stronger ones and you take a shitload of damage.
- Utsuho's playground : one shot, one kill and monsters respawn. More tailor-made for Reimu.
- Betruger Surprise Party : reintroduce pain elementals and archviles (custom graphics) in the maps. It's like in "I'm too young to die" but pain elementals will kindly fill the rooms.

New monsters
They're all customized. There is no equivalent of posthumans here, they're all throwing "balls". The idea being of introducing a gameplay a bit like "bullet hell" shoot'em up. (don't worry, I don't mean by this a fucked up difficulty, this is designed, hopefully, for every kind of skill.)
There are for now three bosses (two "mid-boss" and one boss) ready for now.

The game will feature 4 episodes in the end (more or less planning to do 28 maps.). Gameplay and universe vary from one episode to another (at least, planned to be like this.)
- Knee-Deep in the Poop : Takes place in a corrupted Hyrule. Introducing you softly to the "bullet hell" stuff.
- The Chores of Hell : Kind of "rethinking" of Touhou 11 (subterranean animism for those who play this). So, mainly underground maps and such. The bosses of Touhou 11 will be featured here. (WIP)
- Scarlet Inferno : Takes place in the scarlet mansion of Touhou 6. Many bosses will be there too.
- The Final Cuntdown : Takes place in Phobos and on earth with demons corrupted by McRonald Donald. This is planned to be more a mix between gameplay like a Hell Revealed and the one of Scarlet Inferno.

The demo features the first episode (7 maps including one secret), Knee-deep in the poop, reworked since the last time I published here. You'll also find an excerpt of episode 2 (map 8 and 9) though it's still wip, you'll have here a mid-boss fight on map 8 and 75 percent of map 9. There is no exit on map 8 you must use idclev if you want to see how map 9 looks like.

Does the fact that a map in tribute to "mock.wad" is in progress answer the question? :P

No, more seriously. Yes it is in the fact that , of course, the sprites etc ARE retarded, that's done on purpose.
Though, the idea is certainly not to make it a boring wad.
So the point is : do you say this because of the graphics? If yes, that's normal.
If you say this because of the gameplay, please tell me what has to be improved in your opinion :).

I'm still far from being an advanced modder so of course, I may have made mistakes. As I said, " I assume the gameplay in itself is decent enough now to be released , but who knows, we never are a good judge on our own work "

Honestly, the subject matter steers me away from this, regardless of whether or not it might be interesting to play through. Honestly, what's the obsession with making Doom WADs based on Youtube poop memes? I swear I've seen two other attempts (one of them, thankfully, unreleased).

I'm not surprised because I also saw two projects on internet : mine (at an early stage and a recent one, but which framerate absolutely sucks, that's why I didn't post the link), and the one of a guy who saw an early video of my project and thought "yay let's do the same thing" and who , indeed finally renounced to release it, I guess because it gained no interest at all on youtube.
No, as far as I know, I'm the one who had the idea first.
And therefore, this project despite its "You Tube Poop Doom" name is not only about youtube poop, as it's also mocking stuff like Touhou (especially episode 2, in progress right now) and making many easter-eggs to old video games (like a map reproducing the entire level 1 of Zelda Nes.).
But well, I understand that the concept may not interest everybody and threfore, I'm far from being an experienced mapper, that's why I'm precisely here, to get some serious feedback from experienced users , not just "wow you shoot Sailor Moon , download link please!" :)

To say things clearer : every episode will deal with a different main topic (even though enemies from former episodes may appear).

I can't say you'll find much of a target audience around here. I'd suspect most (including myself) would find the subject matter far too irritating to ever be able to give it a run (and I say this having seen the first map gameplay vid, so yes, I know what to expect).

It sounds like quite a bit of work has been put into some parts of this this but describing bits of it as retarded, annoying and unfitting and it being based on a YouTubePoop - 99.999% of which are annoying and shit - really doesn't make me want to download it. I'll wait out to hear what others say first.

Yes, actually it has been quite big work to make all the decorate , weapons, etc and really did my best to propose correct maps (even though, I definetly think I will have to rework on some - especially map 1 -, as I said, I decided to present the work at it's actual stage in order to have advices from more experienced modders.).
Actually, I didn't think that the theme would be so irritating for so much people....
Yes, unfitting music and retarded characters , that's a jokewad even if I did my best to propose an interesting gameplay, it is still a "parody" of Doom, not something with a serious , adult atmosphere. This is intended to give a cartoonish , nonsensical feelling to the whole, not something with demons, gore, marines or I don't know what military / SF stuff. After ,yes I guess that choice is a "like it or hate it". I just didn't expect so much people to hate it hahaha.

@Xaser : Which video? Because in it's actual stage, those ones are quite badly outdated (and well, my mistake, shouldn't have focused on making videos of map 1 which is not representative at all of the next maps and don't feature the most "interesting" monsters. )

I hope some people will still try out and tell me what is to be improved (there is always things to be improved :) )....
Well, next time, I'll come back here with some classic doom maps then, as I'm planning to do ;)

I have a wad quite similar to yours, but I intend to leave it as it is.
As for weapons, I don't like many projectile-based weapons. At least have one bullet/ripper weapon.
The textures might need changing if you want to deliver the mock on youtube poops.

Hi, thanks for the feedback! Actually, there is no bullet or ripper weapons for the simple reason it is intended to end with an action more like in a shoot'em up (but this will be more flagrant starting from episode 2). That's something I seriously thought about, but having weapons almost "unstrafable" in a Bullet Hell action would be , at least I think so unlogical. Though, as the first episode is not yet 100 percent into this, I will think about it for those first maps (but it would be most likely putting back the shotgun only I guess.).
Yup, indeed I definetely need texture change for some things. But unfortunately I'm not a graphist, I was supposed to be helped by someone who unfortunately (but fortunately for him, he got customers) don't have the time to do this anymore.
Maybe I should wander in the "ressources" section....

If you don't mind, I would be interested to see your work .

My doom project that might be of some use to you is in this thread ( viewtopic.php?f=19&t=30851 ). This is a mix of player classes and modified monster behavior, but no maps. The file size is 84.1 MB (extraction is not required).

The similiarity I was refering to was that marketing/appealness from the Touhou franchise (I won't say any further), only that I took that to a different level in graphics. This is the work that is most vehemently shunned in this forum.
