Official DeCorEd Thread!

Post by insertwackynamehere »

DeCorEd is a program I've been secretly making for a couple of months, which is basically a frontend for ZDoom DECORATE.lmp creation. The beta .01 has support only for basic decorate types (ones which don't have a preceding word in front of thier name) but will soon be able to edit all DECORATE things. It can Open, Save To, Save New, and create new DECORATE lmps. The only thing I can think of that is not currently supported is comments, but those should be supported eventually. When I say it doesn't comments, BTW, I mean it will overwrite them, so watch out! I hope you enjoy!

Great job Wacky! This is so sweet, like bouncy said. When and if .64 comes out, try to make one for decorate weapons too!

Heh, thanks :D It shouldn't be too hard to implement stuff for other types now (actually easier, since they have defining property types in thier names) and once someone writes a Wiki or other useful article on weapons implentation for .64, I'll add it :D First I'm going to add comment support, then I'm going to add projectile/breakable/pickup support, and then ACTOR suppor (and then weapons support if .64 comes out by then)

Hurg. I never made an effort to learn all this decorate stuff. This tool will be very useful indeed. :thumb:

Totally awesome, Wacky (can I shorten your name that way?). I'll definitly use this program (as long as it isn't buggy :D ). I often have problems with even simple items having bugs, so this is a godsend for me.

P.S. Wasn't there somebody else that was working on this too? Nanami I think. I might be wrong.

all these lovely programs coming in. I do hope someone will make a SMALL program which is EASY to use so I can continue my scripting without the WA limits.

YAY.

/me wants .02 of DeCorEd

although TECHNICALLY i don't need it since i know how to type a Decorate monster without it, this does make my life a bit easier, especially since i don't have as much time to make Decorate monsters... :(

How 'bout [windows key] + [R] ► notepad [return] ?
Much faster IMO ;)
