Re: [WIP] (unnamed mod of rips)

When you showed this to me the last time, I didn't see your glock reloading animation. I was thinking to myself, how could you have put 80 frames of animation into just firing? Now that I've seen it, well, it might look alright as a model rip, but I think it'd look better if you were to trim the fat a bit and make it look good as a sprite, even if it means hacking together suitable hands to fit to it. Look at Project MSX for a great example of this sort of thing done right.

These rips still need some work, after ripping everything else (the 8 other weapons, some of the missing zoom frames), I'm going to try to clean up the edges, as the two still have that orange outline.

If there is anyone who would like to help with ripping or cleaning up the current rips, it would be greatly appreciated.

After waaaay too much stalling, I've nearly finished the G36C. Like the other two weapons, it still has that nasty orange outline and its sights are blurred a bit.

It looks pretty cool, but are the muzzle flashes supposed to be so clearly detached from the guns?

The screenshot was taken probably a tic after the flash spawns, so it's a bit detached looking there.

You should try disabling stuff like antialising, bloom (and postprocessing in general) and depth of field before ripping, the orange halo looks ugly. I remember there being a Section 8 rip mod which had similar (but rather bluish) halo. The weapons were really horrible thanks to that. I mean, even worse that RGA/H horrible :P

All of that is already disabled, but the orange map I took the screenshots in caused the halo, so I'll try to clean up the rips after I've done everything else.

Update. SMOD: Outbreak weapons are being dropped for Call of Duty 4 weapons because of permission issues. Below is a quick ripping test.

The rips look good so far, although there's a bright border around the gun in the third image.

Thanks, that outline is probably a result of having depth of field turned on.
