At first I was wondering what a good base for her would be. For some reason, I thought it couldn't be done. Then I realized: KORAX! OF COURSE! The thing has like six arms and even looks Alien-ish. Take off one set of arms, and you've got a perfectly decent base right there.

Right now, I'm just worried about drawing the crown for the other rotations. But it can and will be done :).

That looks great, man. You wont even be able to tell it's based off of Korax in game. A great edit indeed.

Funny thing, I just watched Aliens a while ago. Awesome, Blade3327. :)

Using the new and improved elite marines Xim created for version 2.5 of Mutiny as a base, I made mercenary soldiers for Ballistics:

The NCO is complete except for the boots on some frames, the standard soldier only has a single finished frame.

Thanks for the kind words, guys :).

@Woolie Wool: Crap, those're cool. In-game, with some solid level design and textures, these would make THE military Doom mod.

You could put the right hand over the top of the big guns, or it won't look right. Just look at the shotgun doomguy.

The shotgun zombie has his hand "over" the stock because it's a conventional stock with no pistol grip. He grips the forward part of the stock, like this:

Notice how the soldier's hand is on the stock.

With the auto-shotgun in the third image, it has a pistol grip, mounted below the stock. The grip you're describing makes no sense with such a weapon.

Those soldiers look great, I can imagine the camo is going to be annoying to do for each frame

Xim did the camo already (although the NCO was recolored, which was a fairly difficult process due to the fact that he didn't use the Doom palette). I'm doing the heads and boots. Unfortunately the Strifeguy helmet doesn't always fit a zombie head so I have to do some pixel editing.

hmm, i would imagine myself to still, if it had a pistol grip or not, to actually have my arm on the outside of the stock....

That doesn't make any sense. Imagine holding an M16-style rifle in your hands. Imagine turning it 90 degrees across you. The stock will be in front of your arm due to the way the pistol grip is situated. Having your arm over the stock would require you to twist your wrist in an unnatural manner. Of course the Doomguy's way of holding a weapon is not a really good one (the proper way to carry a weapon in combat is to having it facing forward and down, at the ground to your left, so you can quickly bring it up to your shoulder and it won't hit anyone if it discharges by accident), but that's beside the point.

Finally continued work on PsyGirl again:

Still not 100% (bit of a harsh transition between 4, 5, and 6) but it'll be done eventually. :P

I decided to officially drop the long coat since it didn't really look that great (PsyGuy will still have one, though). Walking animations for all rotations are 'done' -- all that's missing is firing, pain, death, and casting... which puts me at the almost-halfway point. *sigh*

It was. But it was totally worth it.
