technoless spiders would be all psychic just like octobrain in dukenukem..infact i made a arachnotron that attacks like the d64 one plus has a telekinesis attack. when i first played doom2 i expected the spider demons to have psychic attacks, since i thought it would fit them better than a plasmagun..i always liked the doom64 version of the arachnotron more than the doom2 version, saddly doom64 didnt have the spidermastermind, however having the cyberdemon. that pissed me off soo much

Heh.

EDIT: If anybody wants, I can submit the Aracnorb (as this thing is called) to the Beast contest but I'm really not happy with the sprite job. I made it have an interesting array of attacks, though, and it has a couple of new sounds (edited beyond recognition by me) so if anyone's interested, I'll go ahead.

I believe Tormentor already has it, sans the credits lump.

I lost it some years ago when you first posted it :P I'd suggest posting it again for the contest, maybe you can fiddle with the decorate a bit to make it more convincing :) It really deserves a good one! The sprites are very cool!

Maybe Boomer's attack from L4D? That would come well for a weaponless mancubus.

That non-cyber Cyberdemon is a damn good edit, by the way, but the name was a little cheesey, and it could use a new attack animation and some new attacks, since it's coding is pretty boring at the moment.
Well, I still didn't want it to be cooler then the cyberdemon, though.

Attack frames don't have angles yet. >:( I'm very lazy.

Special bonus: the Nightmare beast! Screenshot of it in action here.

Hmmf, I had a really awesome idea for a boss monster to beat the Fire Drake, but since my computer has been broken for a week I can't be arsed anymore  :P

Uhhh...I have a question.

There's a rule saying we can't use any ACS additions.

Does that mean you can't use ACS functions in DECORATE? (ThrustThingZ, etc.)
If so, may I ask why not? I understand when the ACS is in a different script though, but not if it's all in DECORATE.

I think action specials are fine. The main problem with ACS in a monster resource would be LoadACS scripts that could interfere with scripts already in a map or mod.

That dream creeper is some scary shit on dark maps. Needs a better sprite than a recolored Lost Soul, thou'. It just doesn't do the monster any justice.

Good point. XD

Thought I'd just go with a more straight forward name though. I mean, it doesn't make sense why they're called "decyber" though but I guess it's a little less cheesy than superdemon. But hey, the mappers can name it whatever they want.
