If it twitches, it isn't dead. Consider the changelog a twitch. ;)

ZDoom for Linux

Postby henu » Tue Sep 20, 2005 5:10 pm

Very nice to see that ZDoom is not dead! But if I can remember correctly the developement of Linux version was ended..

If so, is it totally impossible that there some day will be update to the Linux ZDoom too?

There is already a working linux version if you use chris' patch. I'm not sure where it is but if you search for "GCC Patch" it should turn up fairly quickly.

One thing I remember from the zd.doomworld was the "updated" ACS ref (from December 12 rather than December 04) - I still have that at http://zdoom.sourceforge.net/reference/

Whoa! :O

Looks cool but how am I suppose to use it? I figured out that I have to apply the difference-files to sources, but what version should I use and how do I apply differences?

Mmh.... This thingy feels really difficult. Do you know if there is any handy howto for all this configuring/tweaking?

Hmm, I'm trying to compile it in linux with the makefile, but I get this error:

gccinlines.h: In function ‘bool EV_DoFloor(DFloor::EFloor, line_t*, int, fixed_t, fixed_t, int, int)’:
gccinlines.h:272: error: ‘asm’ operand requires impossible reload

gccinlines.h:272: error: ‘asm’ operand requires impossible reload

Any ideas?

gccinlines.h was not even touched between 2.0.96 and 2.0.97. A hint: the fourth of that five asm(...) in the "inline SDWORD TMulScale##s" 'function' is the blocker.
