I"m not using hyperbole when I say this. Switching this "emulate timidity" function while using Fraggle's GUS patches here to "on" almost blew out my new speakers. Not only did it wake everyone in the damn house, it also startled the neighbor's dog.
I'm shaking as I type this. All you need to replicate this is to use fraggle's patches, compile the latest ZDoom, and change "midi_timiditylike" to true.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to sit down...

I can't reproduce it on Windows, but setting the output format to 8-bit has very hilarious results [warning: LOUD]. (And it even works in Zandronum, so it's not even recent!)

The bug itself is not platform specific. I've made this pull request with the fix.
