GZDoom sub-forum
GZDoom sub-forum
I've been wondering this for some time, what's the reason the GZDoom forum is on the DRD Team forums instead of on here? It might be beneficial to have them on this forum instead.

Re: GZDoom sub-forum
Because, at one point, GZDoom itself was actually hosted at DRD Team.
Re: GZDoom sub-forum
Ah, that would make sense then. Would it be in GZDoom's best interests to move over here or would it be too much a hassle for too little gain?

Re: GZDoom sub-forum
I wish they had a GZDoom subforum over here though.

Re: GZDoom sub-forum
What's so difficult about bookmarking http://forum.drdteam.org/viewforum.php?f=22 ?
Re: GZDoom sub-forum
Not difficult at all, but for some reason getting developer feedback on (G)ZDoom bug reports usually takes form hours to days here, and from weeks to years at DRD Team forums (i'm still waiting, Graf. STIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLL WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIITIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING...).
Re: GZDoom sub-forum
+1 just move all GZDoom forum activity to here. Randi please make it happen. =D

Well, sorry, I have no idea what to do with that, so feedback would be pointless.
Re: GZDoom sub-forum
Um... Your usual approach seems to be "ZDoom way is the right way", so what's different in this particular case?
Re: GZDoom sub-forum
It's a question of seniority. For features that originally come from GZDoom, like 3D floors, then GZDoom is the reference. However, in this case there's a discrepancy of behavior between alpha levels, and that's clearly a bug, with the behavior at alpha level 255 being incorrect because for every lower value the behavior is different.

Re: GZDoom sub-forum
Why was linked in the first place? It's already fixed. That lighting bug was introduced in GZDoom 2.x, and qualified as a genuine bug.
The other one is a bit of a problem. That situation was never considered when the code was written and it's a bit difficult to get in now.

Merely to illustrate the delay between me creating the thread (Jun 10, 2015) and you fixing the issue (Dec 11, 2015).Graf Zahl wrote:Why was linked in the first place?

Well, yours is a special case.MaxED wrote:Not difficult at all,
As programmer for the editor you should have a red phone right beside your computer, with a direct connection to both Graf Zahl and randi.
