Snowy. Some graphics tutti fruiti and it WILL look ugly in Zdoom, which is why these were done with GZDoom. On the hell levels it has that desaturated with high red look of Sweeny Todd. I like the little ice beards it gave the zombies!

EDIT: This is my last one. Seriously.

Here's TooMuchBrown, in both normal and high-contrast versions (the high-contrast version makes many levels too dark, though...)

Here's two twisted palettes i've made.

The first one gives some colors a hint of a cold tint, without going over the top. (blood and some other colors being an exception)

And this monster inverts everything, but keeps colors within their same (basic) regions! Really good for jokewads or other weird things.

Warning: Bouncy is not responsible if this palette destroys your eyes and brain.

Bouncy, I like that second 'Invulnerability' palette more than Doom's!

@Skunk: That winter palette makes the Zombieman look like a lanky version of Santa.

@Morpheus: That Too Much Color palette makes makes Doom feel like some oversaturated NES game. I love it! :D

I'm still trying to think of what palette I can do next. It's tricky to mess around with colors and have them still blend properly on sprites and textures ingame. I might do a "colorblind" palette though.

Though first I should stop trying to write "pallete" instead of "palette"

I'm sorry, I had to make two more, couldn't help it. They're the same, one just has contrast. These actually have a good purpose! A nice desaturated sepia tone for flashback sequences. These are just the act files, I'm sure you can make the wads on your own. This was only tested on the title screen image so I dunno how it looks in game.

Haha, had to make some more. These are simple and boring, though. :P

BCY-PAL3: 128 color palette! What would doom look like if it had HALF of it's colors?....not that different at all.
*cough* Perhaps a new doom palette with more color types is in order due to this revelation! Half the colors apparently aren't even necessary!
Spoiler: BCY-PAL3
BCY-PAL4: okay, so how about 1/4th of it's colors? Well, that's a different story.
Spoiler: BCY-PAL4
BCY-PAL5: Oh man, what about if it had THREE colors?
Spoiler: BCY-PAL5

BCY-PAL6: Okay, so what if...it had all of the color hues, but no shading??
(no Previews Available.)

Below zip, DESPITE THE NAME DUE TO LAZINESS has all of these palettes. Blah.

EDIT:
Image

Hexen Palette's available for bagheadspidey's tool. GET TO WORK :P

I'll make heretic's and strife's later. x.x

Here's my little contribution to this thread. Four WADs each with a palette - the first three affect greens and reds, the last one is something completely different.
j-palettes.zip
j-greenpink - Changes the red and pink hues to greens.
j-greenred - Changes red to vivid green and green to red.
j-grnblood - Just changes red.
j-matrix - WHOOOOOA MAN. Just three colors for this one. Colormap is left intact to allow distance shading in the green.

Alright SCREW YOU GUYS, I had to make one more, and I promise it'll be my last.

I'm tired of seeing improper so called "Sin City" palettes that make the game look more like the new Sweeny Todd. To give the actual appearance of Sin City I created a new pallet. Again, this doesn't look right in regular ZDoom, so I suggest GZDoom where these screens were taken.
sincity.gif
Pros:
- Mostly high contrast dark desaturated almost greyscale sepia tone seen in the film.
- Flesh tone is the same contrast as usual.
- Blues and greens have increased saturation and are intact.
- White blood. (the only person in the film who bleeds red is Hartigan, and only during one sequence)
- Looks great on bright levels!

Cons:
- EVERYTHING blue or green lights up. While this is cool for some levels, it looks tacky on others (Grosse for example).
- Does not go well with dynamic lights.
- Dark levels are BLACK and almost impossible to pass. (E2M2 for example).
- Can hardly read text since it's fullbright white.
- Doom 1 title pic is fuxored.
- It looks shitty in ZDoom.
sincity.wad
Get it here.

Yes, well, I think you'd have to recode every single graphics file with the new palette rather than just move colors around BUT this is good info to know in case someone wanted to make a TC using Doom's original palette as a base... they could in fact double their color limit.

Hexen Version of the Sin City palette
hexsincity.gif
Suffers from the same darkness problem. Haven't tested in ZDoom yet. I'm not a fan of Hexen and never could beat the game so I don't fuck with it much. Also added yellow in as a color just because I don't know why don't ask.

ACK, I almost forgot about the one I started on a couple pages ago. Yeah it only changes red so far so its Sweeny Todd-ish but its unfinished, and I dunno if I can take it any further as just a palette...

Yours unfortunately shows a bunch of the things I was trying to avoid with just a palette change (That are currently making me want to make a full Sin City style graphics mod to get around the palette limitation.) Some areas are unplayably dark, software looks awful just like you said, , and a lot of wall textures are 2 colors. Where is the red? In Sin City all the blood still showed red, so it doesn't look right to run around with the blood being black and white like everything else.

I'm not saying your palette is terrible or anything, and looking at the screenshots there are some nice ideas caused from it... honestly I'm beginning to think just a palette change will make a good Sin City look extremely difficult. (Thinking about it just makes me want to scrap the palette I started and actually make a full Sin City-style graphics mod. :P)

*Goes back to work on other palettes*

also quad post wtf

Checking some screen shots on the net, okay... there are more scenes with red blood. The Hartigan scene was the only one I remember. Watching the movie right now.
