The only possible use I can see for this texture is creating a cutscene where the marine arrives in front of the wall, and just stare at it for a few seconds then a HudMessage displays a "WTF?" bubble.

No need for a cutscene. Let the player do the WTF-ing themselves. Or use it as the "odd man out" among a wall of the original faces, and hide a secret behind it.
