[Textures] Useful textures

Post by NiGHTMARE »

This is a collection of modified Doom / Doom 2 textures. Mainly they're just a bunch of bars and panels of various sizes, though there are a few more extensive variations here and there. I've also included darkened versions of the plain textures, which are intended to be used for contrast.

You've probably seen similar textures to several of these before, but I've remade a lot of them (the TEKGREN textures in particular - which I actually plan to improve further, as there's a lot of obvious copy'n'paste at the moment).

BLACK, CEIL4_1, CEIL5_1, COMPSPAN, and FLOOR1_6:
Spoiler:
FLAT1, FLAT19, GRAY, ICKWALL, LABWALL:
Spoiler:
MARBLE, METAL, METAL2, and SHAWN:
Spoiler:
STARx and TEKGREN:
Spoiler:
WOOD and TANROCK3:
Spoiler:
See this thread for various gothic-themed sets (including several SUPPORT3 variants), and this thread for numerous brick sets.

Wow, great work! You should make a pack with these and submit them to Realm667.

I've added marble and star textures to the first post.

I've added a texture set based on TANROCK3. It's designed to fit in with the set based on WOOD6-10.

I suppose I should ask before I get started: is it okay for me to modify these textures for a personal project?

I like the darker versions of the textures you made to fit the dark parts of the textures!

skillsaw: of course! Do what you like with them, that's what they're there for :).

icytux: thanks, but the credit should go to esselfortium and vader - they opened by eyes to how awesome contrasting similar light + dark textures can look.

Incidentally, I'm hoping to have a few more recolours up at the weekend.

Welp I'm out...jk
Many useful textures here~
Nice to see they are generic enough to be used in many different situations!

Nice to see these up for public use! I see you've mentioned TEKGREN; the copy and paste is definitely noticeable on those...unfortunately that one looks like it's going to inevitably be a pain in the ass. It might even end up needing different base-texture backdrops for each panel arrangement, though you might be able to avoid it, at least for the smaller panels. The taller ones, I think could probably benefit from a different base backdrop. I'm not exactly sure how it'd be designed, though. :\

I have started on a less copy'n'pasted looking version. So far I think I've fixed the lighter greens and greys - it's just the darker strips I'm still trying to improve. Here's what I have so far:
