About the chaingun thing I said earlier, I changed the chaingun with less exposure of barrels on the botton again because I thought it would resemble the classic one better - you can see a direct comparison on this new thread I created:

I may change it later but for now that's the one I settled with.

I'm posting an updated sheet of sprites with the pickups I made and the HUD weapons on the thread.

A few changes:
* New knife pickup sprite (pretty cool huh? Shame it's not very useful :lol: )
* Updated Luger pickup sprite
* Fixed top of MP40 pickup sprite
* Added little tube under the handle on the Flamethrower pickup to resemble the HUD sprite
* Added 2 frames on the rocket launcher

Image
it is true. what you've done to my chaingun IS closer to the original (however where you've moved the flash lower it needs a little smoother blending where the muzzleflash meets the barrel). I'm just not as keen for some reason, maybe the barrels just look a little short or something...then again my mp40 and chainun pickups are closer to the originals than yours, that's the beauty of resource threads, everyone can pick and choose the sprites they prefer best. love the luger and knife pickup. very useful in afadoomers wolftc deathmatch mode :wink: oh and the rocketlauncher extra sprites: :twisted: (although I use the last frame without the muzzleflash bits as the round shape does not make a lot of sense following the cross shaped flash on the previous frame, it still looks great as recoil without a flash though...)

In case any of you wanted to use the faithful weapons pack with a 3DO ECwolf mod I took it upon myself to add the hud and the icons as well as the title screen into the HD Pack. I also replaced the old Barnacle and Angel of Death Sprites from the HD Pack with the ones from Wolfers for Wolfers and not to forget Wolfedge since those sprites looked more like themselves in the mac style rather then the ones used before.

A while back I made an edit to the jaguar MG to make it resemble the wolf3D PC MG a bit more, I thought you guys might like it.

Logged in and had to say this to the two of you; If that pistol is supposed to be based on Wolf3D the wiki said the pistol was loosely based on the walther P38 and it seems like LkMax went with the luger. Otherwise great work! I just happened to be looking for a bit of inspiration myself right about now boys!

Regarding that, does the Wolf 3D wiki specify a source for which gun it's intended to be? I'd be more interested in a "straight from the horse's mouth" source, than something that can be edited by anonymous users.

The Official Strategy Guide says it's a Walther if I recall correctly.

Contact Established. Shivers' and my hypothesis have been validated.

http://wolfenstein.wikia.com/wiki/Pistol

In the trivia section it says the guide refers to the pistol as being a Walther P38. The trivia tidbit comes with a footnote linking to the guide itself;

http://www.wolfensteingoodies.com/wolfe ... e_1992.pdf

It's listed as being within page 39 of the manual but if you're looking at the thing as a PDF try Page 41. The description for episode #4 (A Dark Secret) describes the pistol as being a Walther P38.

EDIT: Also, Aardwolf. :P

Huh, interesting, I always assumed it was a Luger because that's the only pistol I knew with this style of design. The latest version of my graphic mod doesn't resemble 100% neither of the pistols though, it's just similar enought while being consistent with the other sprites.

:wub: what a result. I imagine this as an stg44 or at least wolf3D's answer to one. Great stuff :D

Spear of Destiny has the same weapons as wolfenstein 3D, right? Unless you mean the functionally identical but aestetically different blue painted guns from the mission packs (a.k.a. the lost episodes), in wich case, I didn't manage to get good results with the limited pallete.
