[Preview+Download] Spricer BETA

Post by zerratar »

Hey guys! :D

I was kinda happy when I stumbled across these boards not too long ago seeing that many people have been using my program i made a while back. 'Spricer' Yep!

Looking through some of you guy's threads I found that many of you had a few negative thoughts about it, stuff not working properly, and cases when you decided NOT to use spricer because it would leave you with more work, or even sometimes
hinder the work you are doing.

So I thought it was time to update my little program and have some new nice features coming, and what better place than posting the information here? :)

I think I get the most of the stuff explained in the video, for more information. Just ask here in the thread or PM me :p

I will release this as soon as I get a few more bugs nailed down =)

** Update **

You may download the beta version of spricer here
http://spricer.fingerfeat.com/download/SpricerBETA.rar

*Note*:
This is a incomplete version and does not have all features and may contain lots of bugs, so basically its just for testing and playing around.
Please leave a comment if you find any bugs, etc.
I've also noticed that the app doesnt start directly, if it holds up on you a bit. just wait a few seconds :p

Other then that, have fun!

Cheers,
Zerratar

Depends :)

If you want to keep the black background on the chem but sliced up into seperate frames
- Yes.

If you ONLY want the green chem to be exported
- No. The black will be traced as part of the sprite/Frame :p

However, if you make the whole image black then the chem's will be sperated with a transparent background ^^

Hi, thank you for dropping by and putting up the tutorial video. I had a lot of trouble figuring out how to use the old Spricer, hopefully the new one will be much improved.

Oh, hi there! Bit of a surprise seeing the author of a certain useful tool drop by. ;)

Definitely fond of the app. I use it quite often myself, since it automates what would otherwise be a rather tedious process. Makes the spritesheet format much easier to work with, for sure. :)

What a coincidence, I only found Spricer last night! If I was married, it would have saved my marriage.

So this tool works for sprite sheets, what about texture sheets? I assume its pretty much the same?

Sure, why not?

Altough, not all texture sheets will be as "easy" to trace, since each texture part needs atleast 1px padding, meaning that its not possible to trace them out if the textures are touching eachother.

Example:

Good to know, because the old version did something wacky as far as I remember.

Trying the old spricer on some texture sheets, it seems to get confused. But from your screenshot it seems this new version could do it.

All texture sheets that I have, have more than enough padding, they are all from around the forums here

I'm glad to hear all the positive feedback.

So right now I'm curious if there is anyone who would be interested in trying out the new version of spricer out as a beta tester before releasing the complete version.
I'd say that the test version should be ready in about a week or so.

Throw me a PM if you're interested :)

Honestly, you could just drop it off here and chances are people would report bad stuff happening if they happen to stumble upon such in this thread.

The more people using it the better, bugs easier to find and squash
