Well, if I wanted to, all I would have to do is 'mplayer -fs %s'. But that's not very flexible. It could also create conflicts with input, the mouse, the potentially fullscreen ZDoom window, volume, etc. Using the right switches, I could enable the video to play in the game window, using ZDoom to capture input and pass commands to mplayer while playing, to change playing the video scaled/unscaled, to pause or stop it, and not worry about IO conflicts. I could even replace the command with kmplayer, for a nicer looking UI. Also, adding a place for options to enable post-processing and other quality-control switches..
