Regaining Mouse Control

Post by Ed the Bat »

I was really not sure where I should bring this topic up, so forgive me if I missed the mark... I would've put it in the Bugs forum but I'm not even entirely sure if it's a problem in ZDoom. So I thought I'd ask the community first to see if anyone knew.

Whenever I play ZDoom, my mouse acts up a little. If I try to click on any other programs or the Windows desktop (either after I've closed ZDoom, or switching away with alt-tab while ZDoom is running), I can't get all my mouse commands to respond immediately. For instance, I can't get any left-clicks to register until I've right-clicked once. It's very strange. ZDoom itself doesn't have these problems, but everything else does, and only when I run ZDoom. However, I'm not sure if this is due to ZDoom, or my mouse's drivers, or something in Windows itself.

Has anyone else had problems like this?

I have that problem too. It only happens if I use the mouse in the menu (clicking on menu entries). Then I use Alt-Ctrl-Del and proper mouse control resumes on the screen with the "lock computer/close session/change user/open task manager/etc." choices.

If I never click on any menu option, the mouse keeps on working correctly after quitting ZDoom.

I reported that as a bug a while ago but it was summarily dismissed.

Funny thing is, it happened with Vista 32 and it still happens with 7 64.
