I'm trying to use the new [wiki]Sector_SetPortal[/wiki] action. And the results aren't exactly convincing.
This works in ZDoom, though it suffers from HOMs on the sides of the cross. However, in GZDoom, the entire ceiling of the upper sector is a giant HOM! The walls of the upper sectors no longer HOM when seen through the pillars or the edges of the cross, but that's not an improvement when the entire ceiling bugs...
If I change the linedef in the upper sector to set the portal there on the floor, as could seem logical (the lower sector's floor corresponding to the upper sector's ceiling), then the portal simply stops working entirely, both in ZDoom and in GZDoom.

Re: Portal woes
This is weird. Usually, it's GZdoom that is more lenient with the HOMs. ALl the portals i used wouldn't work in Zdoom, but worked perfectly well in GZdoom (albeit, with tons of lag).
Re: Portal woes
So, I guess it might be worth a bug report over at GZDoom?
Re: Portal woes
Okay, I thought that both sides of the portal had to be tagged likewise, but in fact, no. The sectors seen through the portal must not share the tag of the sectors in which the portal is seen.
