Plain ol' Baron clapping sprites?

Post by Jimmy »

It's kind of hard (and, as I have learned, inappropriate in some cases) to work from another heavily edited set of stock Doom sprites, when they're a completely different color and shade and whatnot to what you're used to working from. I say this because for my redoing of my Hell Prince sprites, I want a clapping animation for his secondary attacks. Unfortunately I know of no original clapping sprites done for the plain old Baron of Hell.

I have tried working from the Nimrod archdemon but I wasn't happy with the results, and I've realised the creators of said sprites won't let me work from them as a base anyway. So if someone could direct me to a clapping animation for the original Baron, if there is one, I would be very grateful. :)

There was some in some obscure Japanese coop wad I used to play in my ZDaemon days, so they do exist, but unfortunately I don't have the wad anymore. :?

You could recolor the sprite using DecX so it matches the color of your Hell Prince a little better.

DecX is a Decorate file extractor, it has a recolor function? I'll check it out.

EDIT: Kay, I haven't figured this out yet. How do you select sprites to recolor?

You select a WAD and then click on the -WAD- not its contents. And it'll bring up all the sprites in the WAD to recolor. And it'll recolor all the rotations and frames of the selected sprite automaticaly. Just select one frame and it'll recolor all the frames from every angle.

Its real cool.

I'm sorry, but ever since I saw the title of this thread I've been thinking silly thoughts. Eventually they got the better of me...
