Weird thing is, the IP logs indicate that they're two separate people.

How is it possible that we have two talented sprite artists both named Paul? =P

Where in the hell did all these excellent artists come from suddenly and how much do I have to pay you to work for me?

Then I sure wish my name was Paul. :P I have the skill but I don't have CLOSE to the willpower or patience these true talents have.

Well well... 'nother Paul, more, another talented artist Paul :)
Funny thing is 3 of my educators at my art school who specialise in drawing are named Andrew, and there was Andrew Loomis whose books taught me to draw in the first place... I suppose it has something to do with japanese name meaning or something... anyway.

@ Big Project - I've checked the rotary frames on that "tiki" demon (the one with golden..uh, antlers..) and it seems fine. Maybe the tail seems a bit bent to the right on the angled view, try making it shorter /hiding it behind the body sorta. Keep doin' it dude, lookin' good so far, stuff holds together as it turns, that's good start dude.

@ Paul - lookin' good there. The color/values remind of Doom's demon. Concerning the animations - have you ever seen Unreal Nalis' motion? They move their arms in pairs, i.e. both right arms together behind, both left arms together forward and so on when walking. Otherwise you could just make the lower limbs move normally and the upper ones reaching out for the player or maybe waving upward, but only slightly so it doesn't seem like it's "dancing".

I've quickly roughed out an animation attempt of that demon. Trying to make his limbs move as little as possible so it doesn't feel very jumpy. The result seems to me like the monster's some kind of an abomination made of different parts so its arms are not so flexible as if they were his own... Or maybe it's just too furious running after the player to move with more grace ;)
I hope this helps you in any way. I'd like to see that monster finished :)

I actually picture the 4-armed guy's arms flailing wildly; which would simplify things because he could use mirror-based rotations for his frontal frames as well as angled frames.

Wow, thanks! Could you split the .gif up into a bunch of .pngs (or jpegs or bitmaps or whatnot) and pm them to me?

@ shadesmaster Yeah I pictured him flailing wildly too... Maybe I can go in-between the two and figure it out from there. At any rate, I'd want the arms to move just a little bit more than other Paul depicted in his guide, it kinda looks like the guy is shaking his fist at you. "Get outta here ya hooligan!"

Maybe If i made it so he has 6 walking frames instead of 4 I could make it look a bit more smooth?

Or you can open it with the GIMP (it's free!) or Photoshop and look at each frame individually.

Here's a bad-ass looking armor pickup based on the enviro suit from Strife.
