Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
It's always bugged me that in general a lot of modders have obviously never even HELD a gun before (and not just in the Doom community.) Whatya gunna do?

Still not 100% (bit of a harsh transition between 4, 5, and 6) but it'll be done eventually.
I decided to officially drop the long coat since it didn't really look that great (PsyGuy will still have one, though). Walking animations for all rotations are 'done' -- all that's missing is firing, pain, death, and casting... which puts me at the almost-halfway point. *sigh*
This sprite is awesome. You are awesome.

True, but can you really blame people? For the majority of people, guns aren't exactly an every-day house hold item.Captain Awesome wrote:It's always bugged me that in general a lot of modders have obviously never even HELD a gun before (and not just in the Doom community.) Whatya gunna do?

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Point, but I'd imagine NERF toys are much more widespread due to fewer restrictions being placed on them, and most of them are roughly the size and shape of a rifle. Perhaps that would help better to "educate" said modders.Xim wrote:True, but can you really blame people? Well, I've got a mini-uzi watergun in the garage, good for funny drive-bys

This really deserves to be finished, honestlyXaser wrote:Finally continued work on PsyGirl again:
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
I'm interested in the skeleton with the gold helmet and the grey demon with wings, I could try their rotations.Gez wrote:Here are the Shadowcaster monsters (including the CD-exclusive ones).
Note: the tar dude got to have two sprites instead of just one, since its idle frame is quite unimpressive. It's the red-eyed black guy near the dragons. The black lump below is the idle frame, the more expressive sprite is just before it attacks. The ceiling spider also got to have two sprites shown here, to show that it has a transition to floor spider (like the spider bots in Strife). The boulders can't really be considered monsters I guess, but they attack nonetheless. The mine (with spikes and skulls) even throws spells at you. The big scrotum next to the spiders is some sort of barnacle monster that hangs to the ceiling. When it gets near you the shell opens and some ugly toothy thing inside bites you.
Now here's a deal: none of them have rotations for their attacks. So if anybody wants to use this monster in ZDoom, they'd have to create said rotations. If someone volunteers to do the artistic work for one of them, I'll post the full sprite sheet of the corresponding monster and an approximate DECORATE translation of their general behavior.
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Here's Zardaz (the four-armed skeleton). Attack frames E to G, he summons a fireballs.
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
The gray winged demon seems ideal for color translations.
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
He's more complicated to complete, though. Veste has a four-frame flying animation, and three attack frames (one in the air, two for when standing). That's seven frames that lack rotations.

Hearts are due for a comeback.

Hahah, that would have been so much more appropriate in the Xbox port than those pills.
