You'll probably also want to redo their death frames then, because they implode. (Those if reversed, it can make a nice "grow" animation like the Heretic pods. Hehehe, who would want a podspawner creating them?)

The humans in the second row have some rotations too? The man in robe is a boss if I remember correctly.

Not really a boss. He's seen as a prisoner in the Werewolf Castle, and then the same aspect is used by Veste as a disguise to lure you close before he attacks.

The "pathichuman" (I guess they were trying to go for "pathetic" but aren't goud speelars) has rotations, but they're incomplete: what would be, in Doom terms, the 2 and 3 rotations are identical, as are the 7 and 8. The cleric has full rotations, but no attack or death animation (instead, it has a four-frame talk animation, and these two frames are actually just two images; no rotation for the talk frames either).

Note: the tar dude got to have two sprites instead of just one, since its idle frame is quite unimpressive. It's the red-eyed black guy near the dragons. The black lump below is the idle frame, the more expressive sprite is just before it attacks. The ceiling spider also got to have two sprites shown here, to show that it has a transition to floor spider (like the spider bots in Strife). The boulders can't really be considered monsters I guess, but they attack nonetheless. The mine (with spikes and skulls) even throws spells at you. The big scrotum next to the spiders is some sort of barnacle monster that hangs to the ceiling. When it gets near you the shell opens and some ugly toothy thing inside bites you.

Now here's a deal: none of them have rotations for their attacks. So if anybody wants to use this monster in ZDoom, they'd have to create said rotations. If someone volunteers to do the artistic work for one of them, I'll post the full sprite sheet of the corresponding monster and an approximate DECORATE translation of their general behavior.
awesome!!! this is the first time ive seen these monsters! (I cant get Shadowcaster to work) you should post these in the Resources section!

Oh yes! These monster sprites made me discharge my phoenix rod! :x

It even has the missing link between the pod and the Cacodemon! :)

Those sprites look superb. I have Shadowcaster but have never played it properly right through so it's cool to see some of that stuff. Excellent work Gez. :yup:

I don't suppose you've ever had a burning desire to rip open Alien Trilogy too have you? (Highly unlikely, I know)

Again, not a game I own. (I do not actually have a very large game library.) As far as sprited FPS go, I have just about all Doom-engine games (thanks to the id Super Pack, which also gave me Wolf3D and Spear of Destiny), Arena, Daggerfall, Shadowcaster, Ultima Underworld 2 and that's all. And before anybody asks me to rip those, Wolf3D and Doom already have plenty of tools, there is this for Arena, this for Daggerfall, and XWE claims it can open UW2's resources. :P

Nowhere. Nobody before me (and, admittedly, DaniJ but he never released the tool he said he did) ever managed to rip these sprites. But if you want them, you can get the game and use the next beta of SLADE3 to extract them.

I don't want to just rip everything and release to everyone, it feels too much like warez to me.

I don't see how it would be. Even then, this sort of thing is done all the time. I'm not gonna be a prick and bug you to do it. If you don't wanna, then you don't wanna. Just giving my opinion.
