If you want their names:
- Skull Fly
- Fangs (well, CDFangs actually, but I guess the "CD" part of the name is because that guy is a CD-version exclusive)
- Boar Whip (boar guy with a whip, surprisingly enough)
- Boarman (boar guy boss with a flail -- you can tell he's a boss because of the skull emblem on his belt, the other bosses are the MU Wolf, the Lobster and the Zardaz)
- Wolf
- MU Wolf (MU probably stands for "Magic User" as in old school D&D)
- Lobster
- Mudguy (mud yeti thing)
- Magma (lava yeti thing)
- Flame Lord (fire elemental with a saber)
- Cleric (white-bearded guy with amulet)
- Pathetic Human (I don't remember ever seeing them anywhere in the game)
- Slave (tiny brown dude)
- Snakf (four-limbed snake)
- Cyclops
- Green Claw, Blue Claw, Red Claw (mauve-eyed beholder things)
- Eye Claw (green-eyed, horned beholder thing)
- Veste (magic-using gargoyle, the Big Boss, not looking that impressive next to the magma and mud guys honestly)
- Red Dragon, Green Dragon, Water Dragon
- Tar Dude (a crawling puddle of tar that can extend into the dripping dark monster)
- Jumpy (purple eyeless armless monster)
- SuperJumpy (larger eyeless armless monster, which is also the first enemy you encounter)
- Hang
- Spider (floor, ceiling, and dangle variations)
- Big Spider
- Fly Dino
- Bat
- Blue Cloak
- Cloak (red cloaked thing next to skeleton)
- Skeleton
- Zardaz (tall four-armed skeleton with golden helmet)
- Boulder
- M-sphere (shiny rock)
- Skull mace
- Bile Guy (silver fishy/wormy thing between the tar dude and the super jumpy)
- Fish (the blue fish between the big spider and the the super jumpy)
- Manta Ray
- Blood creature (weird horned white thing below the cloaks)

Heh, a staple monster of countless RPGs. DEATHCAP anyone?

And "Lobster", really? Not "Poseidon" or something?

The little gnomish slave dudes were an interesing early example of harmless creatures in an FPS. (Though I guess you could make the case that Shadowcaster wasn't exactly an FPS.) I recall finding some of the hanging webbed ones, making me hate the spiders in that level all the more.

That's the sprite names. In the cutscenes, the lobster is referred to as "The Sea King". Also the dragons are called Dragons instead of Ssair. The internal names are also wildly different; e.g. Maorin -> Cat, Kahpa -> Swimmer, Opsis -> Floater, etc. In fact, the only monster whose internal name is the same as the "campaign setting" name is the Zardaz. (It's also the silliest name of all, honestly.)

As for the spiders, they really creeped me out the first time I saw them. Little spider on the floor, little spider on the ceiling, little spider on the floor OMGHUGEGIGANTICSPIDER!!!

The shape looks odd, but you get points for the idea. :P

Yeah, I lazily ripped a low poly CS model and changed the texture to say bbq sauce.

I might make a better version but I'll work more on this after my Wolfendoom mod :/

Here's an idea... THE CULINARY MOD FOR DOOM: Use a melee spatula, a melee frying pan, throwing plates, melee butter knives, pizza-cutter with a chainsaw-style attack, condiment bottles to fire continuous streams of ketchup at your enemies, and the all-powerful hot sauce bottle.
I smell a Cacoward .

Note: the tar dude got to have two sprites instead of just one, since its idle frame is quite unimpressive. It's the red-eyed black guy near the dragons. The black lump below is the idle frame, the more expressive sprite is just before it attacks. The ceiling spider also got to have two sprites shown here, to show that it has a transition to floor spider (like the spider bots in Strife). The boulders can't really be considered monsters I guess, but they attack nonetheless. The mine (with spikes and skulls) even throws spells at you. The big scrotum next to the spiders is some sort of barnacle monster that hangs to the ceiling. When it gets near you the shell opens and some ugly toothy thing inside bites you.

Now here's a deal: none of them have rotations for their attacks. So if anybody wants to use this monster in ZDoom, they'd have to create said rotations. If someone volunteers to do the artistic work for one of them, I'll post the full sprite sheet of the corresponding monster and an approximate DECORATE translation of their general behavior.
Are there full sprite sheets for these monsters? The Army of Darkness TC would've looked so much better with some of these... well, a lot of TCs actually.

Trust me, such a thing has been on my mind before. :P

No. Gez prefers not to rip the whole thing. He might give you a few if you ask nicely. If you have Shadowcaster, though, he will happily give you Slade3 Beta 5 so you can grab them yourself. ;)

Maybe I'm weird, but it would make me a little sad to see a bunch of these in 1001 cheap monster mods...

A much-needed update on my Alien/Predator-related work. These new frames were a tad easier to do, surprisingly enough. Sure, I used the same copy/paste method for the head and whatnot, but it took like 3 minutes of work per frame, if not less.

Hope you like 'em! More to come.
