Metroid Doom Idea, Ridley Boss test on page 1
*Update 12/18/2006*
beginning work on making 'killable' decoratioins that drop health and ammo randomly or not at all *much like the containers in the MP series*
planning ideas of the map layout and what goes where type of thing, i will basicly reuse maps over and over, cheap yes but its the way to go. though when i get this one figured out i will need mappers *my mapping mostly sucks* and ACS scripting people *for the life of me i cant get a simple 'hello' message at the start of the map to work*
working on refining the weapons and enemies
and i seriously need someone who is good with graphics making to make a space pirate from the metroid series, something that looks like the ones in prime would be great *ive tried but i cant do it*

for some odd reason my teleporters here dont work quite right, you need to go to the wall and touch the skill you want to try then backpedal, because you need to cross the linedef twice to get the porter to work...
and the pillars in the boss rooms will only block bullet shots..., though i wont fix these glitches because this is only a test, and i threw the map together in about 5 minutes
oh yeah i put some super metroid textures in there for the occasion

read the metroid File First have fun with it and please let me know what i can improve on, either the weapons or the monsters, they are still beta's and there may be glitches in it still, some of the beams go through teleporters, but the TC wont use teleporters so it wont matter
well maybe a few easter eggs will use a teleporter here or there

its an idea i have thought of, and i got a little bit of an idea of what i want, that file is just some weapons i scripted up for it, more detail is in the zip itself
but unlike the other metroid TC's that were in the making for several games *note, quake 2 to metroid 2* and have been abandoned or given ceast and desist orders because they were taking an already made game and turning it 3d i want to make a new game and story line
ive got some idea's down but not much at the moment, ive still got to come up with creature ideas and i do want ridley in it, but my spriting sucks and my mapping skill, though improving, is nowhere near enough to actually do this anytime soon... but i got area's and a basic metroid plot written down
Plotline
The Federation sends in a mission contract, it seems that the Space Pirates are at war with a Reptilian race on the planet Ket’enk. The race is called the Sentanos, and are allies of the Federation. Ket’enk was once inhabited by the Chozo long ago and their relics and artifacts are still present, it seems the Space Pirates are after an artifact that can Triple the users physical attributes… something that can be very usefull to a being like Ridley or Kraid, even the Mother Brain
Your mission is to stop the Pirate Invasion and recover or Destroy the Artifact at all costs
Ket’enk is a planet that is primarily Jungle on the surface, it has many cavernous area’s that are filled with underground lakes, some with volcanic activity, there are 2 main space pirate bases, one Sentonian base, and a federation trading port
Area’s
Telenia
Wide open Jungle area on Ket’enk leads to the pirate base Demitor, Sentonian base Kre’Larn, the Sanctorus Temple *Chozo Origin* and Kir’ant Caverns
Kir’ant Caverns
Large mazelike Caverns that are half Submirged in water, leads to Pirate Base Zebeth and the Kit’suan Dome
Kit’suan Dome
Large domelike Cave that is filled with lava and firey pits
Pirate Base Zebeth
Pirate Base that has metroids… nuff said
Sentonian Base Kre’Larn
Base that leads to the Federation Trading Port Sr388 Omega
Federation Trading Port
You can find the Super Missle Here
Pirate Base Demitor
With a small amount of Phazon they have Experimented on a few Ket’enk species, the results are deadly
Sanctorous Temple
Temple that holds the Artifact known as Ferothik, it enhances the holder’s attribures by at least 3 times, located in the inner sanctum
However to get it you need 6 Keys hidden Throught Ket’enk
Game Setup, you do not need to get every Weapon and or item to go gain entry to the inner sanctum just the 6 keys
The hyper beam is found at the inner sanctum only

Nintendo has copyrights on all of the characters and terms you're using in this post. If you do make this a reality and it becomes possible, be ready to receive your own cease and desist letter and have to abandon the project entirely.
What I would recommend is your own original characters and story elements, which you could perfectly legally adapt to be very similar to Metroid. The key is that you don't use any of their copyrighted resources (music, sounds, graphics, etc), names, places, and so forth.
