Finished first rotations. I didn't do the 5th one because it's just the back of him.

Carbine Dioxide wrote: Nice! Does that mean you're adding it to Helsturm? I just thought that with the DooM guy hand, you would add it to helsturm. I thought I saw a MARS A pickup you made that looks sorta like that.

Compare to the current pickup sprite, which omits the slide under the carrying handle and the optical sight:

I've already put together the code base for it - it's fully functional, just short on sprites. I may have a second go at adding the top-mounted slide, but for now I'm going to start on an M81-style reload.
The code base can be used later for the MARS B - it has semi-auto, three-round burst, and full-auto at 600, 900, and 1200 rounds per minute. Unlike most of the other weapons, it will have no upgrades, save for perhaps an optical scope, and will rarely spawn.

I'm confident something can be done regarding the Doom palette ver., I'll try to come up with something useful tomorrow. Sucks to be so limited regarding yellows and oranges in the original palette.Eriance wrote:Making explosions for DE to replace the stolen Hexen graphics.
Doom Palette
Unedited Trucolor version for those that wanna use it or recolor
for another game/project.
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
As nice as Photoshop is, I've never felt it was well suited for pixel art, particularly when aspect correction is involved. There are better programs built around pixel art that take aspect correction into effect, such as GrafX2. It even works with paletted images.torridGristle wrote:Slax wrote:It does!
What's the problem?
Left, smallest pencil size possible without aspect ratio correction. Right, smallest pencil size available with aspect ratio correction. If you want to make pixel edits you have to turn it off.
That said, if you're not working pixel by pixel but painting instead, there are methods that will work with most image editing programs. I usually work with a base image, then downsample it to Doom's native res, and follow that up with clean up work. You can also use a sprite from Doom side by side with yours for an easy comparison on how things look and feel.

To hell with downscaling! That's a perfectly fantastic mini-boss right there. Brb, fanart.

Trying to make Mac Wolf 3d styled graphics of the PC version, this is as far as I've got.
