Even if I could, I'm not sure I'd get the logic, as that post is basically implying that fat people don't exist. It looks nice, fat or not.

I failed at the vertical stretching, but it should be more obvious now.
I hope I'm clear enough on this one, not that I'm good at stuff like this anyway.

The sprite is alright, though I can't say I like that haircut.

The red is the form of the torso/stomach.

And the cyan is a bad illustration of how a cross would look on such a torso.

Now here's a comparison (I know that I suck at drawing lines, thanks.), it's probably a good idea to keep it a bit wider than I've shown here.

But don't make a bubble stomach, that is a characteristic of fat.
Take a look at how the fighter's torso advances. That's definitely not fat. Play around with it, and remember that bubble stomaches, as in stomaches that are round and don't advance. (As with the fighter.)
Usually look pretty fat.

The giant below is a great example of a 'bubble stomach', but unlike here it actually stops at the stomach.
Which is usually alright for stuff like that, but if we're talking about making females look less fat.. Don't do that.

Thanks for the explanation, although the diagrams don't take the lab coat into consideration, which tends to have less shape.

If I do go for a full set, the sprite will be tweaked though. As for the hairdo, it's supposed to be tied back, but it's tricky to do when it's 7 pixels wide :P

Also be careful with the shading, because as it is right now, it looks like the stomach is pushing the coat. (!)

Just look at the edges. Though if you try to flatten it up, it may look better.

I don't see the need to make it not fat anyway. I don't actually think it does look fat but, you know, "bubble stomachs" and fat are not exactly unusual in the real world.

Aaaanyway, the shading tweak is an improvement.

A women in a lab coat does not look very feminine anyway, when working with such a small amount of pixels changing 1 or 2 can throw off the rest of the sprite. Are all female clothes suppose to be tight and form fitting? What about female armor in games? How can an iron bikini protect as much as full plate mail? The sprite doesn't look fat to me either, I understand the limitations you're working with. Try just giving the face more expression or tweaking the hair a bit but either way great job.

Another mock sprite. Who can guess what character it is? (without looking at the name of image)

Uh, I dunno, it has a kind of GoldenAxe look. Isn't it the final boss?

Yep - its Death Adder from arcade Golden Axe 2.
Spoiler:
And I would like to make complete set eventually.

EDIT: I played with scales of the sprites a little, because Death Addet seemed too big compared to his ingame appearance. Which one would fit better? I added some other sprites for comparision (even the witchaven barbarian I used as a base.)

THIS IS INCREDIBLY SILLY

(I'm lazy so just the one frame)

It'd be awesome if someone with more spriting talent than me could make an actual 9-barreled shotgun, though. :V
