Uhh not to be a total noob or anything but what is ToP?scalliano wrote:Good stuff there, though it's funny you should mention the Nightmare Imp as it's not a million miles away from the version I originally made for ToP. I'm sure someone will update the player sprites in Hacx.....+:icytux:+. wrote:Yeah i know this :/ it sucks pretty bad, and i dont know of anyone that would rework them. But il just go ahead and atleast make some fixes. I'm a pretty busy man so i don't think i can do too much.Eriance wrote:Concerning Hacx monsters, how are the other sprites being fixed? Most of hacx's sprites don't look like they're moving at all. The walking frames just kinda of 'flips' for many of the enemies (and then edited slightly). This always made them look strange to me. Given how detailed those sprites are, I think some extensive reworking would be needed.

I think one of the attack rotations has a giant black rectangle on the side?JustinC wrote:I'm sure someone will update the player sprites in Hacx....

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Fun Fact: A couple of Heretic's Firemace HUD sprites have black rectangles on them too.Eriance wrote:I think one of the attack rotations has a giant black rectangle on the side?

On the original sprites? The new ones are from scratch....Eriance wrote:I think one of the attack rotations has a giant black rectangle on the side?JustinC wrote:I'm sure someone will update the player sprites in Hacx....
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
They replaced the sprites? I only know of the ones originally found in the game.
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
There may or may not be someone hinting at something.
On the subject of the weapons, the Tazer and 'Zooka are definitely on the "To Improve" list. I tried to mess with the former myself, but never did get too far. There's more capable souls than I am in that regard, surely. But at least I had better success in coding a new behavior for it.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
I've nearly gotten all of the guy's walking frames done, but I ended up accidentally deleting my only copy of his recolored spritesheet last night, so I'm going to have to do that all over again before I can make any more progress on it. Talk about a pain in the ass.
EDIT: Till I get that done though, I threw together this Daggerfall/Elder Scrolls inspired Orcish Warrior.

And this Orcish shaman who's based entirely on the shaman from Daggerfall.

Unlike the warrior, many (nearly all) of the Shaman's extra details were sprited from scratch, from his decency-flap, to the little pouches on his belt, to his staff, to his arm that's holding the staff. I figure doing little things like that is the best way to teach myself how to scratch-sprite.

Here's my (half-assed) attempt of a centered D3 plasma rifle:
It could definitely use some perspective adjustments, that's for sure.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
just made this really quick

a mash up of a couple sprites. His legs look a bit flimsy at the moment. I might actually be able to finish this one, since most of the stuff in there was taken from other chex sprites (as opposed to me drawing the whole thing)
