r3851 Slider lengths at different resolutions

Post by Enjay »

Reporting this just in case it's a bug but it might be how it's meant to work.

At different screen resolutions, some of the menu sliders change length compared to each other. Look at the "Brightness" slider in these screenshots. The first was when ZDoom was running at 1920x1200, the second at 1400x900. Both have been size reduced for great justice.

If you can't see the images, imgur seems to be a bit flakey ATM but they are uploaded. Basically, on the video options screen, all the sliders are the same length at 1400x900 but the gamma, lost soul translucency and number of particles ones are only about 2/3 the length of the screen size one at 1920x1200. I suspect that this may well be deliberate to get things fitting on screen (unlike the "Sprites & Particles text :P ) because these all have more than two digits printed after the slider.

I'm pretty sure that's it. A lot of people complained about menu items not fitting on the screen a while back.

ChronoSeth is correct. If the slider with its numerical value is going to be off the right edge of the screen, it gets shrunk.
