[Wolf3D] "Operation Eisenfaust: Legacy" released!

Post by doomjedi »

Happy upcoming Christmas to you all! :) (...and happy birthday for myself tomorrow :) )

4 years in the making, Team RayCast would like to release its new mod:

Operation Eisenfaust: Legacy
http://www.moddb.com/mods/operation-eisenfaust-legacy

Featuring story and level design by Ronwolf, art by Doomjedi, programming from the talented Linuxwolf and WSJ, as well new and original soundtrack mostly by Lozer_42.
Download size: 127 MB, mostly for ogg music and sounds.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3751922/Legacy_full.rar

The story takes place after the events that occured in Operation: Eisenfaust Origins and Operation: Eisenfaust. After Schabbs' demise, it was assumed that the Eisenfaust plans had been destroyed once and for all. But a former protégé of Schabbs has taken the blueprints of the operation and is attempting to restart it. It is up to special agent B.J. Blazkowicz to stop the Nazi's from creating another mutant army. Will B.J. stop them, or is he about to find out that the operation might have progressed a lot faster than he thought, with its effects far more devastating...

Please read readme before playing!

Have fun!

I really, really don't want something like this to get lost to the auto-pruned Off-Topic forum, so I've moved it to Projects and relabeled it accordingly, even though it is not even for Doom. =P

Can this be run with Doom or the Wolf 3D TC? It looks good and I'd love to play it.

As far as I can tell, this is a stand-alone Wolfenstein 3D mod that requires nothing.

Does this have doom-style strafing in it, or is it vanilla wolf controls?

There is an advanced controls menu where you can define bindings for strafing.

Still no autorun, though. :(

(also those rifle guards are completely insane, they should at least take a while to aim like the rifle guys in my mods)

Thanks for the honor and feedbacks, guys! :)
Hope you'll enjoy the mod, alot of love was put into it.

From report on other forum - please rename ENDART to ENDART1, not to have a crash in the end of the mod.

Download file was updated to prevent end-mod crash and fix mapping error that prevented access to one of the secret levels.

An ECWolf version of this is a MUST.

I wish more people on the Wolf3D Community took up ECWolf for all their future mods, and it is my opinion that efforts should be made by veteran modders on the forums of Wolf3D Haven and Die Hard Wolfers to tutor their community on the use of ECWolf. We would see so many more Wolf3D mods being churned out, and the whole community would be united under one single system that everyone knew and understood. There is hardly any information of ECWolf on either Die Hard Wolfers or Wolf3D Haven, which is a pity considering they have in their grasp the ultimate means by which to make Wolf3D mods. Neither group either has a specific ECWolf forum, which is self-defeating when one considers the awesome modding potential that ECWolf will have the future of Wolf3D modding (if it is to survie at all).

tl;dr ECWolf is the next leap forward in Wolf3D modding.

Problem is, this mod adds some features that ECWolf cannot yet replicate, such as reloading and NPC chatter and other such things. There is a place for more complicated mods to use source code changes.
