WOLFENDOOM : SPEAR REVISITED (ZDOOM/GZDOOM) V 1.1

Post by Caleb26 »

Some time ago I was developing/remaking Spear Revisited Mod (Originally by The Executor) for Edge Sourceport but I changed my mind since Zdoom/Gzdoom has much much more interesting stuff. And that's the way it is.
Big improvements over Edge Version :
- scoring system
- status bar (almost exactly the same like in original Spear Revisited - minus life counter)
- sliding doors and secret passages are working exactly like in original game (zdoom polyobjects)

100 % COMPLETED

Could you please use some sort of font that fits with the status bar? CONFONT does not look good at all.

I'll use original SR ingame fonts. First I need to convert all SR maps.

Plays great, I do feel the maps could do with a bit of brightening up, though. I also detest the "MG-42", mainly because it looks nothing like an MG-42 and it has Doomguy hands, while the pistol has some other sort of hands, ROTT I think. Consistency really is an issue anyone should consider when selecting weapon sprites. If you couldn't find centered MG-42 sprites, well, just don't make it an MG-42. It's supposed to be a chaingun anyways, it's not like the Wolfenstein franchise has ever tried to be true to history, so why start now I say?

This is a remake so I didn't change the original weapons at all. They're supposed to look like this. It's not an issue at all.

I just finished it and the levels are gorgeous. The only real problem I've noticed is that the mutants don't drop collectible magazines. They just sort of drop and stay there on the ground forever.
