Possess me! is a single-player gameplay MOD for Doom/Doom 2, where you are a "Spirit" that can possess the corpses of your enemies and fight with they own weapons, health, flying habilities, and so. You also have some extra "especial attacks" and and a "berserk mode" that brings variety and advantages, like stuning enemies or use their heads as bombs.
Health is almost removed, so you have to keep possessing to survive, using what you have killed.

Spoiler:
Final version
http://www.mediafire.com/?7q9pumqq720p1cy

-All know bugs fixed.
-All known missing stuff (sounds, puffs, decals, etc.) added.
-Ammo pickups restricted to the corresponding class.
-Demon's special added.
-Stuns can't be interrupted anymore, and mancubus especial has been improved.
-Many little cosmetic fixes.

- Original text ---------------------------------

The MOD is almost finished, but I need some external testing. It seems to work fine but I'm not sure of general balance.

Beta:

TO DO list:
-Fix/replace the stupid spirit weapon sprites.
-Add Caco's and demon's special attack.
-Restrict ammo pickups to corresponding class.
-Improve stun script.
-Add a HELP lump for quick reference.
-Do something with with zombies heads when resurrected.
-Fix the chaingun.
-General fixes, missing stuff.

I gave it a shot, and some very serious issues came up on the spot.

1) I can't possess anyone. I tried and tried to possess someone, but it never worked. I used primary fire, secondary fire, space and the action key you set up. Nothing. Then I went and got the latest SVN, tried all of it again. Nothing. Then I summoned other monsters, like arachnotrons, mancubi and barons, killed them with "mdk" and tried to possess them. Nothing.
2) How can you possess a body when you don't have anyway of killing enemies in ghost form? I had to get them to in-fight and kill each other, and by the time I had a body to possess, I was in about 20 health.

Have a look see at these problems, and I'll come back for a more thorough test.

It works for me, but I think your weapon is not autoselecting (is in slot 4) It happend to me while possessing the Imp, during an old test.

I upload a new version with a Setweapon() line so it may not happend anymore.

Well, it works now. Nice work. Not bad for your first wad.

A few issues I did find:
- I lose the ability to fly after a while as the Cacodemon. I'm not sure why, but it happened every time I became one, so I don't chalk it up to accidental glitch.
- I'm not sure what caused it, but I full on died as an Imp and didn't revert back to my spirit form.
- There's an error with the Flash state of the chaingun. Compare it to the original Doom one. Also, the sound is wrong. The chaingunner's chaingun uses the shotgun sound.

I'll report more as I find them.

Unless this is a different Aluqah, not his first wad.

Using the secondary fire near not-gibed corpses (it may take a few tics). There is a tutorial TXT (unless you are having a problem similar to Ral22, but it should not hapend anymore)

PD.: Yes, I'm that Aluqah

Ah man, this had become one of my favorite mods to play in. So balanced and creative. Unfortunately, the mod no longer seems to work properly. In GZDoom 3.2.1 the mod seems to crash whenever dying or running out of mana when Berserk is active.

This mod was implemented as a character class in the new Doomvengers mod: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=33349 Doomvengers is far more up-to-date.

I think this is what people kinda wish Geist was, and the way it was more hyped to be. A first person shooter where you freely hop from body to body, causing mass chaos. The actual game ended up being much more of a linear puzzle kind of thing, but the concept was solid. If only they did the shooter mechanics better and made it more open ended. What I'm saying is, great mod.
