@Blue Shadow: The music isnt supossed to loop. The whole music thing is a debatable point, but after all, there was an idea in mind when it comes to music in the mod, and that's what was done.
@wildweasel: It is not that no effort was made to enhance the weapons. It was actually a decision deliberately made. The weapons werent supossed to look, nor feel "nicer". Primary fire is exactly the same thing (compared with vanilla) in all the weapons (as in no change was made at all). Only a single sound was added for the weapons and monsters, and that was for the chaingun alt fire, but other than that, all weapons use stock doom resources; and while a lot can be done fx-wise with stock doom resources, if used properly (see
Disposable Heroes), the general idea behind the this mod was more related to a simpler look in the weapons (or should I say "vanilla-ish look"?). And is not meant to be compatible with other "enhancer" mods, not on purpose, but you cant expect to have a (g)zdoom mod to be all that compatible with other mods.
In all honesty, it was this mod what made me remember why I loved the original, unmodified (in the look/behavior/feeling) doom weapons.
