Yep. Looks like I got stung by this, too. Guess I better go yell at Graf fix it and get a new version out.

[edit] Grab the hotfix.

Thanks. I was expecting it was me being stupid somehow and then getting 3 pages of rageposting. I've played the previous version and liked it pretty well.

Strife is not supported. I think I barely got this to the point where it'll give you a default weapon when you talk to Rowan, with further changes breaking too much shit to be worth it.

Yeah. But you're not going to be able to get all the guns, and some Strife stuff remains unchanged because I just didn't give a shit.

About to give this another go (don't think I gave up on it, I just got hooked on Hideous Destructor) now that version two is out.

If you've left the ammunition for the MP40 alone since the old version, wildweasel, do you think you can kindly reduce the amount of MP40 ammunition you get by a third? I was winding up with much more of it than I knew what to do with.

Thanks.

I suggest you give it a try for yourself; I have honestly forgotten what I've done with the ammo balance since V1.

epic2.wad and ww-nazis.wad are a wonderful combination but sweet Christmas it's a challenge.

I'm not sure whether this is due to ammo being thin and enemies thick and strategically placed in epic2.wad or ww-nazis making the enemies much tougher. I'm a pretty good DooMer on Hurt Me Plenty and that difficulty setting makes me cry here. D:

Could you help me better understand a few weapons here Weasel?

The Thompson M1A1 compared to the PPSH-41

and

The Lee-Einfield compared the the Gewher 43.

Thanks for any clarification.

The Thompson and PPSh take different ammo types - the PPSh, if I recall, has lower accuracy and slower shots, but a much faster firing rate. The SMLE deals more damage than the G43, and its shots travel much faster, but the G43's prime advantage is that it does not need to rechamber. The SMLE, on the other hand, is most useful for long-distance sniping, thanks to the fact that you do not need to lead your shots as much.

The more and more I think of a mod where enemies drop no weapons (but they do drop ammo) and that level-placed weapons have more of a random chance of being other weapons (and some level placed ammo has a low chance of being a weapon too) the more and more I like it...

Yeah, that's my only gripe with the mod. Whenever I pistol start, I wind up with a shitton of weapons. I might make a little separate version of this wad, wildweasel, would you mind if I post it here? (you get credit for the original, of course.)

Think you can get it to work as an add-on instead of a complete mod?
