It's slated to come out today, but I'm sure Sarge is going to release it tonight.

as much as i don't much cared for Ghostbreed's behaviour in this thread, there's little point in dragging it out like this.

I wasn't exactly pointing at Ghostbreed, I just thought it was kinda funny when I saw that "=P" that wildweasle put there.

Brutal Arsenal Alpha Test 1

This is an expansion pack for Brutal Doom. It contains 15 new weapons. I have plans to make a total of 50 weapons for this expansion. This is a very alpha test, and many stuff is still not complete. This is just made for testing purposes and doesn't reflects the quality of the final product.

Credits are in the DECORATE lumps of each weapon.

Are they ZDoom compatible or just for GZDoom ?

Very amazing so far! The weapons feel really, really powerful. But I spotted two glitches so far:

- The original Double-Barreled Shotgun has a typo at it's pickup message.
- The Chainsaw pickup doesn't give you anything.

What is the alpha weapons pack compatible with? It's not working for me with gzdoom, zdoom or zandronum :?

The weapons pack is compatible with all sourceports. First select brutal doom, hold ctrl, and select the arsenal. Now drag both files (drag from brutal doom main pk3) into your .exe.

Alright just went through standard Doom 2 with those hilarious weapons, there is a large list:

1. All weapons can be reloaded even when magazine is full.
2. No ammo counters on all the weapons.
3. Pistols cannot be dual wielded due to the counter not registering that the player picked up another pistol
4. Dual wielded Pistols cannot be reloaded untill the magazine is depleted.
5. Pump shotgun zoom is sticky and remains active even after switchingweapons unless you manualy take it off.
6. AK-47 zoom is too sensitive.
7. Missile Launcher (from SW) alt fire costs 0 ammo to use and takes no ammo away when reloading.
8. Laser Rifle alt fire does not work (I assume it's a scope function).
9. BFG9000 fires like a chaingun if you hold the fire button down.
10. Bazooka lock-on does not seem to work.
11. Chainsaw is non-existant.

Suggestions:

1. Improve the AUG, it is dwarfed by the Assault Rifle. I would suggest making it a burst weapon.
2. Reduce the effects used by the laser gun, it causes mass lag when firing.

Overall these weapons aren't half bad, so far my favorite is the M60.^^
Still needs improving in the animation and graphics etc. But that will come in due time. Hopefuly you can get a hotfix out for some of the above mentioned bugs. :-)

I finally got around to playing it, and wow... I thought it was a whole new game.

There is a glitch (or its a placeholder I don't know about)

That when the burnt doomimp corpse falls down, it flickers one frame of the normal death falling down, it was noticable because it wasn't black. :P
