Smooth Animated BFG 9000 [RELEASE]

Post by BlueFireZ88 »

Here's something interesting:

A Smooth Animation version of the very static BFG 9000.

This is meant to be used with Perkristian's Smooth Weapons Animation Wad, which can be found here: http://www.doomworld.com/vb/doom-editin ... -released/

It was renamed to BFG 9001 to differentiate itself from the normal BFG 9000.

It can be simply added on to ZDoom with the SWA wad, or you can merge the animation sprites and DECORATE info together with the SWA wad.

Special Thanks goes to FDARI of the ZDoom forums for making this wad a reality.

Details of the making of this wad can be found here: http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=28543

Good idea, but the scaling needs some serious tweaking, as from what I can see from the last screenshot.

Yeah, everything except the muzzle flash around the barrel (which looks quite good) looks a tad chunky. Nice effort, though. :)

Not much I can do about muzzle flash. I'm not that good at editing sprites, and my skills are limited. If you guys know someone who happens to be decent or good, point me in their direction and I'll see what I can do. Otherwise, this is as good as it gets.

Some bump for this. :)

I took the liberty of using this for my modded PerK smooth weapon animations. The DECORATE code you provided didn't exactly work for me though, so I just imitated the way PerK did with the other weapons and it seemed to do the trick, at least I didn't have any problems during playtesting.

See here for details.

Below, you can also check how I edited the last two of your new BFG frames so that the muzzle doesn't look so blurry any more.
