Hacx 2.0 -- Hacxmas Alpha!

Post by Xaser »

Image

That image is a link. I've put together a 5-map alpha to share for the holidays. What better way to celebrate Christmas than by celebrating Hacxmas? ;)

For the curious and easily-distracted, here's a quick gameplay video showing off one of the heavily-revamped maps n' new things:

We'll be making another big push for contributors soon, so keep your eyes peeled if you're interested in lending a hand. Until then, grab the alpha and start Hacxing away!

Big thanks to Cage for the spiffy art, as always. ;)
Spoiler: Old post, for reference n' things

Please start signing up, people! This is a great TC that deserves a great deal more attention than it currently has.

Also, Xaser, I just posted my list of HacX 2.0 music contributions publicly to the forum. ;)

I'm not going to guarantee anything at the moment, but I may be interested in mapping in the future.

Also, I cannot make sprites, but I *may* be able to do a little texture work. That is a really big *may* though.

Well I'll officially say that I am gonna work on improving the maps, and when I get some more time I might make a few new maps myself.

I am extremely interesting in doing sprite work for this. As I've said, I've been into HacX since I first saw it on the M J Doom Page over 12 years ago. It would be an honour and a privilege to be able to lend my resources to the new and improved HacX.

Anyone thought about converting the DEHACKED into DECORATE?

I'd assume they're probably planning on building it from the ground-up... correct me if I'm wrong, someone.

No, don't be silly. :p

It's already done in Hacx 1.2.

Hmmmm.....The comic panels sound interesting....I was going to do the same thing for my mod. Do the "sprite monsters" need editing and/or you are wanting to create new monsters?

Looks like this will turn out to be a massive project, might take a year or two to finish. I would love to help but my skills are subpar  I wish you luck. :D

Why not give it more attention, then? Start a thread -- someone'll notice ;)
[EDIT] Well, you did. Silly me. :P

That rock texture has always looked more like wood to me, but this looks like a smashing start to a map you've got here -- keep it up! :)

That map is truly looking awesome....The buildings in the back remind me of the ones in blood that explode on the map with the shop. Very creative!
