You release the 2nd beta when you finish map08, right?

I've decided to end it at MAP08. After BETA2, I'll still polish it up a lot, and release the final version or BETA3.

Yep, but I have no ideas for a finale at the moment, and trying to get back in the groove of mapping again after this two month break.

The door in this screenshot still makes no sense (provided it rises up)

also, do you really, absolutely, need a doom texture background on your website (under the content!)? It doesn't do anything but get in the way.

I don't see the problem. WADs do it all the time, and it could roll into the side. Who knows?

Just because other wads have doors rising up into the sky doesn't mean it's any more acceptable. I have no idea where this mentality comes from. (also if it is a polyobject that side-moves it needs a more fitting texture)

And the background is simpily distracting, an often-repeating pattern. Look at most normal websites (including the zdoom forums) and notice how they don't use any background imagery (youtube channels don't count!). While a bit of N5META isn't bad compared to this (seizure warning?), it's still bad.

EDIT: I lied a bit, some sites such as Realm667 do use backgrounds but keep them shoved away from the content.

But it isn't necessarily raising into the sky. Like I said, it could be going up and to the left. Or something.
