Hexen - Legacy Of The Serpent Riders

Post by Smokey_666 »

A hexen project for the GZDOOM engine. LOTSR takes the game Hexen and pushes it to it's limits. Featuring massive environments for the player to explore, new enemies, weapons, the works!

Story:
It is set before the events of Heretic and Hexen. On another world the serpent riders have invaded. They have not yet reached there full power and have to destroy the world using their minions whilst they remain in an adjacent dimension. The few remaining towns and villages are heavily fortified and willing to take in any refugees. You are travelling around the world looking for a place to settle in peace and harmony. You dock your boat at a small beach, in the distance you can see hulking walls and chimbneys puffing out smoke. This could be the town you've been looking for.

I've decided to scrap the idea of a megawad in case I get bored of it and don't finish it. It will have at least twelve maps and depending on how succesful it is, I'll make sequels in the form of addons.

I don't know whether I should release a demo yet, your opinion would be great. Don't forget I'm still looking for help with mapping.

Map Progress:
Prologue
Map01 45%
Map02 0%

Screens look nice. Don't go for a megawad, 3 big levels with a few interesting puzzles, events and a good gameplay is better than 20 bland levels with bestiary monsters or a wad never finished. Use more height differences in the terrain and don't put glass in the windows, its the middle ages.
