End 2... exists? How did I not know of this until now? :surprise:

And this topic has just served its purpose to a T. ;)

Mind you, I went for a long time not knowing that End2 had been released. I finally found it... it was buried in the 'ports' directory, since it's listed as requiring Boom (although it appears to only need a 'limitless' port. Seems to run fine in ZDoom)

I haven't given it a proper runthrough yet, but it does use translucent textures on at least one map that I've seen. Mr. Brundage does state though that he's only barely utilized the features, and his "Boom-compatible" tag is mainly for the limit-removing-ness, since a couple of maps are bigger than the average.

Hope I can find the time to give it a whirl soon. End1 was the wad that got me into Doom again all those years back. ;)

End1 and 2 are pretty awesome. I've been playing level from both on and off this whole week.

The Beginning of the End
Part I
Part II

Part 1 is completely vanilla doom2.exe compatible. Part 2 claims to require Boom, but seems to work in any 'limitless' port.

Most modern limitless ports are Boom compatible anyway (several of them are based on Boom or Boom-derivatives, e.g. Eternity and PRBoom, while others like ZDoom have added compatability in).

Thanks DBT! lot of complicated coding must have gone into it

Apart from the IWAD recognition of action2.wad or whatever it is.

Is there a video of this?

I once managed to play NeoDoom with Mutiny. With a lot of bugs.

ZDRP Zdoom Resource Pack, Made by Keksdose. imo a very good graphical enhancment that has got pretty much no attention whatsoever.

it adds cool effects to almost every projectile, and to almost every light source and effect. and has a own gore mod.

Oniria 2 -- it just came out a week ago, rather sneakily I might add.
