The title of the thread is Cool mods people might have missed. A crappy remake of Doom's most often-played map does not qualify.

I completely forgot about that. I would do more for it but with that JumpMaze thing around I don't think it would get noticed.

It'd get noticed by us, and isn't that what really matters? :3:

...Also, when I tried to use the walljump mod with the climbing claws and found out they weren't compatible (due to re-used script numbers, it would seem) I was sorely disappointed. I wanted to get all Ninja Gaiden-y. :<

Yeah, but why would you make your own mods incompatible with each other?

Um..............................

No, that's horribly counter-intuitive actually. I'm quite surprised he did it.

When I start laying out code for a new level or mod, I'm not thinking of any crap I may have created before. Why wouldn't it make sense to use the same script numbers you're used to starting at?

I am, and I'll tell you why: the LAST thing I wanna do is go back and maintain any of those mods so that later on when someone thinks to combine them, they just WORK. Maintenance sucks.

*arrives from hyperspace for no reason*

Yes, but that's you. You obviously are intending for your old mods to be combined with each other.

Most people? Y'know, the sane ones? Who don't want to validate new mods with old ones every single DAMN TIME THEY WANT TO CREATE SOMETHING NEW!?!?!?

Sorry, I'm done now... :P
