man, i use cracked windows XP game edition 2007, have no antivirus, and old kainozoic comp with mezozoic drivers and tons of installed warez. and everything is ok (except lags)
if theres no cpu overheating (or any other chip temperature problem - for example i had an overheating and short curuit problem with some details on my videocard - it burned with open flame 2 times! but still works) and other 3D games played OK, well... what if to try other OS (like XP) in virtual machine? it is neither difficult for you nor for your system.
i know, that advice does not sounds well, but it is not a big problem, for example in VirtualPC. (which included in new release of Total Commander Power User).
or maybe local guru will help you more with it (maybe 64bit Windows 7 is not good for gzdoom - who knows)

I don't see why i should emulate an ENTIRE GODDAMNED OS just to play a mod.
Additionally, i don't own any copy of XP.
And on top of that, you seem to be heavily hyperbolic.

64-bit Windows 7 works absolutely fine for GZDoom. The problem likely lies elsewhere. Check your system temperature with something like SpeedFan; it's not always obvious how hot your machine is just from feeling near the vents. It's the heat beneath the CPU, GPU, etc. that will ultimately determine your system's temperature.

Well, if my computer goes to heck in barely 10 seconds after starting play, i don't really think i'll be able to check speedfan before it crashes.
(I already have it installed, by the way, it just crashes too fast for me to be able to check it.)

In fact, it just starts normally, just a very slightl lag for one second or so and it goes smoothly, but wake up ANY enemy and it goes to hell in a handcart in two seconds.

it is definitely not an overheating problem.
i don't know what OS terranova has, but how gzdoom with mod could do instant reboot ... it is very strange.
where i was hiperbolic? as for me and my techsupported shops, XP is very stable OS for PC. of course if it is not official licensed version.
but it does not matter.
instant reboot in any OS is not normal situation. what is needed to do with such problem - as usual it is needed to determine what is causing the problem by 1) googling it, 2) swithing programs, driver settings, or 3) even hardware in slots. that's all. or cease to worry about the problem and forget it.
i do not want to seem intrusive but that is the way how it is done.

YOU DON'T SAY
I use 7 64b.

1) googling it,

Yeah, real smart.
2) swithing programs, driver settings,

I think Aeod isn't supposed to run with Vanillia ZDOOM, only GZD. I use GZD, i have a NVIDIA card (Keep in mind graf hates ati like heck) and all my drivers are updated.
3) even hardware in slots.

I have a laptop. So no.

i do not want to seem intrusive but that is the way how it is done.

Terra, what are your system specs? Because I developed AEons of Death on my laptop.

I don't have the very precise specs, but i know that i have 4 GB RAM, 2GB VRAM (Nvidia GeForce GT 540M).

It can run Russian Overkill 100% smoothly unless nukes.

Was a prize. And the game is not free. It was free at some point, but only as a steam promotional offer.

i've found that funny guy named oscuro can't go through teleporters, so he always stays in monsters cells and can't kick player's ass. and please, please-please remove that annoying delay between keypress and firing from some weapons. it is not normally if you try to shoot and need to wait 0.2 or 0.5 seconds before shooting. weapons must fire instantly. i think. with a hope for understanding :)

Terra, googling is the common and preliminary way to find a solution in many (huge amount of) cases. your system specs could be easily get by any sysinfo program like MsInfo64 (u can type it in cmdline) or AIDA64. 4GB\2GB vram sounds like "my sportcar is red and nice" ))
switching off some programs could help to determinate and isolate faulty node of the system. (switching on\off different graphic settings and others). and to determinate what faulty node is : program, service, some settings.
Forgive my tediousness :)
russian overkill is cool mod i'd like to play it, thanks, comrade.
here, in soviet russia doom plays you!

GZDOOM often crashes on Win7 no matter x32 or x64. Several my friends reported the same crash, sometimes even BSOD. Plain ZDOOM works fine.
PS. AEOD with GZDOOM is slow even on 5xxx Radeons. And on my old 9550 it's almost unplayable, but ZDOOM works fine.

No. Gzdoom works absolutely fine on maximum settings on my 7 64. It only crashed In-game thanks to AEoD and one time due to nukespam in RO.

By the way, i have an ICore 7, that could be a problem, though. Only Graf can tell me about that (Maybe Randy too, i think) though.

Just wanted to let you guys know, this mod was mentioned in a gaming magazine I read often (PC Gamer), complete with a small review and a link to the mod. Congrats!
