This mode is sequel of castlevania set in future.There be new thing like modern weapons not just swords and whips.
Firstly i was thinking about RPG system but for now its abadoned.
For now in this mode completed; A lot of new weapons , Soul system, new items and new monsers.
Mode community part abandoned for now.Maybe after community show at least ANY interest i will continue.

anyway i think there be at max 3guns other weapons are swords souls and magic (as you like)

I'm not really seeing a lot in these screenshots except for things that need a lot of work. The pistol has a lot of junk around it and doesn't look very nice at all, and that hunk of meat sitting there looks like MS Paint material. And the map? Well, doesn't look like much of a map (unless that's not what you want to show us; it could be a test map for all I know).

I already said that this just second day of mode all this was maked just for test script working after that there be added new image

Oh, please. Don't get me started on this. Except you already did.

Okay, short: Portrait of Ruin has medieval, steampunk-ish guns. They are not your ordinary Desert Eagles and pump-action shotguns. Putting castlevania into future is pretty much like making Hellsing Doom. Just make your own game with own story. That's not a hard thing to create if your brains have any of that *gasp* imagination.

And Castlevania ain't that Castlevania everyone loves if it's in FPS :|

EDIT: And holy POOP, please fix those sprites!

Oh my in portrait of ruin THERE IS RPG its not steampunk as i know
About sprites: Today is first day of mode i just maked scripts and test them.When you test you dont make high definition sprites, right?
This mode more doom then castlevania.Anyway i playing even what already developed love this.
So please stop commenting like edit sprites sprites WILL BE fixed when main scriptes completed and at least one map completed
About this game to be looking as castlevania there is a scenario and this set not in 19century. When you will play alpha you see that its got its own dynamics that are half-castlevania half-doom.
Alpha will be released (if all be maked as i expect) at end of this week
But i thought it will be released at end of next week

I think the jist is he's testing the scripts so the sprites aren't final.

Sounds familiar. ;)

But yeah, the OP would have done well to wait until they actually had something of merit to show. The idea might actually work if it's done properly, and if the OP doesn't ignore any and all advice given to them.

@Gen: The reason you're getting negative feedback on this is two-fold. First, you've chosen to show screenshots from an extremely early test map. As you say yourself, you started the project only a few days ago. It's not a good idea to show off screens of a test map with placeholder graphics even if you're just testing scripts right now; basically, if you have nothing to actually show us, you should have held off on posting the thread until you did. A good rule of thumb is that everything in your screenshots should be something you could release as-is. The second reason is you decided to use a well-known and popular series as the basis for your mod. That's not necessarily a bad idea, but fans of that series are going to judge your work a lot more critically than if you were just coming up with something on your own. Understandably, if I were to release a mod for Doom that features me gunning down imps, and then tried to call it a Star Wars mod, people would be upset.

I'd suggest you keep working on this on your own and let this thread die. When you have something more solid to show, you'll likely get much better reception if you post it then.
