[COMPLETE] 0x -- Unofficial sequel to 10x!

Projects that have specifically been abandoned or considered "dead" get moved here, so people will quit bumping them. If your project has wound up here and it should not be, contact a moderator to have it moved back to the land of the living.

The super-ultra hyper secret levels in Doom 2. They are specially crypted so that they don't appear as normal lumps in the wad. You've got to find a hidden switch in each of the 32 normal maps to get there, and type the idspispopd cheat code during the role call (this is why the no-clipping cheat was changed to idclip, by the way).

I thought everybody knew that already. :ugeek:

They're very similar to Plutonia actually, and quite fun/challenging.

They do an excellent job of making it sound real, don't they?

So good in fact, they had me searching the Doom2 IWAD and Doom Wiki for something that doesn't exist, ignoring all my knowledge and experience with how doom maps are built and the lumps that would be required, which are nowhere to be found...

Haven't you ever wondered about those unused sprites in the Doom WADS? You probably won't find anything about this because it was discovered just a few days ago.

Yeah, and ever wonder why IDMUS can play 33, 34, and 35 too (in vanilla at least)? That's because those are the songs for those levels! It may sound crazy but it's true!

I'm playing, I notice a lot of weapons, and then I open the door to finish the map, and I have a bunch of cacodemons and even a Spider Mastermind.

that's just cruel haha

Oh really?

Behold, a private message conversation held between me and Gez about these so-called secret levels:

Of course it's a joke.

Shame it's not for real though....it'd make for a good "first time vanilla doom" experience...

Don't listen to him. He just doesn't want you to partake of the epic awesomeness that is the super secret maps.

It wasn't easy getting screenshots. The action was just too intense. Still, I managed to get this:
