- An option for the ALTHUD to show the status bar face in WADS/mods that include 1 as part of the interface (it would be located to the left of the health/armor meter area), for the sake of completion in regards to replicated non-redundant status bar features. I honestly have no idea why this isn't available already.
- You know how in the "new-style" fullscreen HUD, ammo counter icons appear to the right side of the ammo counter, but with the ALTHUD, the icons appear to the left of the ammo counters? I think the ALTHUD ammo counter icons should be moved to the right of the counters like in the "new-style" fullscreen HUD, so they don't overlap the counters in the event that a mod either enlarges the carrying capacity for a preexisting ammo type or adds an entirely new ammo type with a large carrying capacity.

2 slight fixes to the ALTHUD
I know a feature suggestion I made along these lines was turned down, but this 1 is (at least as far as I know) more reasonable. Basically, I'm asking for only 2 small fixes to the ALTHUD:
Re: 2 slight fixes to the ALTHUD
... What. Saves are already unlimited*, and will only overwrite eachother if you specifically choose an existing save to overwrite.Ultimate Freedoomer wrote:Also, I think there should be a save-game limit option that enables unlimited save files, so having multiple IWADS/PWADS in 1 directory won't make the WAD files overwrite each other's save games.
*4294967295, although you'll have gigantic file listing problems long before this point. However, that's only the "new save game" option, and you can actually just specify any filename you want from the console. So yeah, unlimited.

I thought there was a max limit of 20 save files per directory. Was that changed at some point in the 2.8 dev builds?edward850 wrote:... What. "20 save files"? That has never been a thing. It's been unlimited since at least 1.23B33 (Feb 5 2002), and the limit before that was 8 total (2 additional from vanilla).
Re: 2 slight fixes to the ALTHUD
Neither of these things are fixes. And the save thing is entirely off-topic, but maybe he's getting confused with autosaves and ignores that manual saves can also be made.

Well, the ammo icons being on the left is a major source of annoyance for me when using mods. Also, I was counting manual saves & auto saves.Gez wrote:Neither of these things are fixes. Re: 2 slight fixes to the ALTHUD
No, you weren't counting manual saves, because they are already unlimited.
Re: 2 slight fixes to the ALTHUD
It gets more confusing; Autosaves have a cycle limit of 10, not 20, and have a default count of 4. They also most certainly don't interfere with normal saves.

Re: 2 slight fixes to the ALTHUD
I wasn't aware of infinite manual saves, because I usually rely purely on auto-saves as a combination of having co-op settings turned on so I don't have to do everything over again when I die & having Buddha2 mode turned on. Also, I honestly thought the autosave limit could be set to anywhere from a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 20. I was just referring to infinite auto saves. Also, there should be separate tabs in the "load a save game menu" for quick saves & auto-saves. Again, that's beside the main point of my feature suggestion being posited here.edward850 wrote:It gets more confusing; Autosaves have a cycle limit of 10, not 20, and have a default count of 4.
