Doom Alpha, Beta and Press Release support?
This will probably get no'd but how difficult would it be to support the pre-release games? Most specifically the Press Release, as that has significant differences to the original game, It would be cool to play it via Zdoom, any chance of this in the future?

If I recall, ZDoom has some support for beta and press release stuff. Beta lost soul, and the beta bfg, press release score items
Re: Doom Alpha, Beta and Press Release support?
That's mostly for dehacked compatibility with MBF. Actually supporting the press release beta itself would require a new gametype.
Anyway, it would be possible (I even have some code somewhere to let ZDoom load the old patch formats), but it would be of very, very limited use. Loading the alphas would be even more nigh-useless.

True, I was meaning for completeness sakes really, Ive never been able to complete the press release as its so damn difficult without mouse support, custom controls etcGez wrote:That's mostly for dehacked compatibility with MBF. You can get Doom press IWAD to work in ZDoom (although with a few bugs) by converting the Graphics in Slade to Doom format and adding an empty E1M1 lump.
